A kid from Chicago’s Englewood neighborhood is not supposed to be the No. 1 overall pick by his hometown team and the youngest MVP in NBA history. The league’s top point guard is not supposed to have his will tested by suffering back-to-back season ending injuries and become nearly written off. But not every player is Derrick Rose, who learned toughness and resilience from his family and neighborhood to develop an aggressive game and cold, confident demeanor that remains unchanged.

Derrick continues to prove that he will never stop. Returning to the playoffs for the first time in nearly three years, he averaged more than 20 points and 6 assists and drained an unforgettable buzzer-beater to help give the Bulls a victory in Game 3 of the Eastern Conference Finals. While the squad would drop a hard fought series, Rose proved he’s still capable of dominance on the court.

adidas unveiled the newest colorway of the D Rose 5 Boost signature basketball shoe that the Chicago Bulls point guard will wear in his on-court rotation this season. Chicago Bulls point guard Derrick Rose introduced his new signature shoe, the D Rose 5 Boost to fans in Chicago. Derrick hosted 20 kids from local nonprofit After School Matters at the adidas store for an intimate Q&A session where he gave advice on how to pursue your dreams,  work hard and stay hungry. He presented each fan with their own pair of the D Rose 5 boost, signed autographs and took photos to commemorate the moment.

Later, Derrick greeted hundreds of fans at the Foot Locker on State Street who lined up since early morning for a chance to meet the Bulls star.

adidas today unveiled the D Rose 4 signature basketball shoe and apparel collection – the latest in a line of premium and personal signature products designed for Chicago Bulls point guard, Derrick Rose. The D Rose 4 features an exclusive, tailored design inspired by Derrick’s distinct on and off-court personalities and will launch worldwide on October 10, just before Derrick hits the NBA court.

“When I’m out on the court I’m doing everything in my power to win, and off the court I’m a pretty laid back guy who likes to spend time with my family,” said Rose. “It’s cool adidas used this in the design of the shoe, and it performs great on the court and looks really nice off it.”

D Rose visits Croatia, Serbia, France, and the United Kingdom

Derrick Rose of the Chicago Bulls started his D Rose Tour by visiting Zagreb, Croatia, followed by Belgrade, Serbia, London, England, and Paris, France.

Inspired by the exciting and attacking on-court play and smooth, understated off-court style of Derrick Rose, fans attended the tours to experience a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to meet the youngest ever NBA MVP (Most Valuable Player).

In Croatia, adidas held a press conference at the Drazen Petrović Memorial Center where he received a special jersey from the late NBA player’s mother, Biserka Petrović, and toured the museum. Later, Derrick met fans who won a special contest through Facebook at an adidas Store, and then dedicated the newly refurbished Tuškanac “D Rose” basketball court with Croatian-born former NBA player Gordan Giriček and Croatian women’s national basketball team Olympic silver medalist Antonija Mišura.

Chicago Bulls superstar Derrick Rose headlines the D Rose Tour, where the 2011 NBA Most Valuable Player visits Europe and returns to Asia for the third time. The latter includes a 3-day visit to Manila, Philippines from September 14-16. This marks the return of Rose since he last arrived in the country for a pair of exhibition games in July 2011.

Inspired by the exciting and attacking on-court play and smooth, understated off-court style of Derrick Rose, fans attending the tours will have the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to meet and have unique access to Derrick through a multitude of premium, exclusive events.

Even before D Rose arrives in Manila, high school basketball players from the Philippines, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore and Thailand will compete in regional 3on3 basketball tournaments. The winning teams from these countries will get the chance to meet and play in front of D Rose in Manila.
