CHRIS RIGGI FOR TEAM JACOB IN “VAMPIRES SUCK”

He’s über-zealous in buffing up – that’s because Chris Riggi is playing Jacob in the upcoming comedy “Vampires Suck” inspired by the cult teen phenomenon on vampires and falling in love.  Riggi’s Jacob immediately notices Becca (Jenn Proske), the new girl in town but Becca notices Edward Sullen (Matt Lanter) more.  As Jacob persuades Becca not to associate with the Sullens, he is at the same time undergoing a strange transformation of his own that has him peeing on hydrants, chasing stray cats and sporting a wolf tail from the seat of his pants.
As Jacob’s name is synonymous with a perfect-carved bod, Riggi has displayed an intense dedication in working out and has definitely achieved tremendous results – such that the audience will be treated to a better-looking Jacob version in the movie.  Riggi earned mainstream consciousness in his recurring role as Scott in the hit television series “Gossip Girl.”  Coming from an artistic family plus his experience on roles from television and theater, producer Peter Safran did not look any further when Riggi submitted his audition cd.  “Fans of the genre know that six-pack-abs are a werewolf’s most important physical trait, and by the time principal photography began he was in peak physical condition and had packed on twelve pounds of pure muscle,” producer Peter Safran notes.
Riggi adds:  “To play a werewolf fans would have fun with, I had to be in peak physical condition. I had only a little more than a month to prepare for the role, so I began an intense training period. The hardest thing was giving up the foods I enjoy. It felt like I was only eating wood chips and cardboard. But the role required a specific look. It was tiring but I was really happy with the results.”
The role of the werewolf also required Riggi to undergo a time-consuming make-up process that included complex prosthetic devices. “Initially, it took five hours to apply all the make-up and prosthetics but that time was greatly reduced as we got accustomed to the process,” Riggi explains. “It takes a certain amount of concentration to focus on the role and be prepared to go in front of the camera with that kind of preparation. Plus I had to do sets of dumbbell curls while all that was going on. It was a new experience for me.”
“Vampires Suck” opens August 25 in theaters from 20th Century Fox to be distributed by Warner Bros.

The Expendables..... movie for the boys in all of us

A group of mercenaries is hired to infiltrate a South American country and overthrow its ruthless dictator. Once the mission begins, the men realize things aren't quite as they appear, finding themselves caught in a dangerous web of deceit and betrayal. With their mission thwarted and an innocent life in danger, the men struggle with an even tougher challenge -- one that threatens to destroy this band of brothers.
Barney Ross (Stallone) is a man with nothing to lose. Fearless and void of emotion, he is the leader, the sage and the strategist of this tight-knit band of men who live on the fringe. His only attachment is to his pickup truck, his seaplane and his team of loyal modern-day warriors. His is a true cynic who describes what he does as "removing those hard to get at stains."

The team behind him is made up of Lee Christmas (Statham), former SAS and a savant with anything that has a blade; Yin Yang (Li), a master at close-quarter combat; Hale Caesar (Crews), who has known Barney for ten years and is a long-barrel weapons specialist; Toll Road (Couture), a skilled demolitions expert and considered the intellect of the group; and Gunnar Jensen (Lundgren), a combat veteran and an expert in precision sniping who struggles with his own demons.

When the mysterious Church (Willis) offers Barney a job no one else would take, Barney and his team embark on what appears to be a routine mission: overthrow General Gaza, the murderous dictator of the small island country of Vilena and end the years of death and destruction inflicted on its people. On a reconnaissance mission to Vilena, Barney and Christmas meet their contact Sandra, a local freedom-fighter with a dark secret. They also come to learn who their true enemy is: rogue ex-CIA operative James Monroe (Roberts) and his henchman Paine(Austin). When things go terribly wrong, Barney and Christmas are forced to leave Sandra behind, essentially giving her a death sentence. Haunted by this failure, Barney convinces the team to return to Vilena to rescue the hostage and finish the job he started. And to perhaps save a soul: his own.
My review

This movie is directed by Sly Stallone.  With a power cast of 80's actions stars and fabulous cameos of the best action stars ever in our lifetime.  As said, this is the first time these stars have teamed up to do this movie and maybe the last.

If you love action movies, this is for you, if you love booms, bangs, and well orchestrated explosions this is the movie for you, if you love comedy, this movie is for you.... well if you are an adrenaline thirsty action movie fanatic..... yes this is for you.

Admittedly, there are still some flaws when it comes to the movie as there are also many scenes in the movie that was too much talk and was really at a standstill, the plot is very simple so you don't really have to use your brain that much.  Just expect action action action!!!  Some scenes kinda remind me I was playing "Operation Wolf" on the arcade.  And one more thing, Hale Caesar's long barreled gun rocks!!!  It's like you have to have that gun!!!

I would have loved to see Segal and Van Damme on this but I guess the movie would cost more and would not have been done.   And you may ask does Sly still have it... yes he still has it.
Catch The Expendables at you favorite SM Cinemas, Now showing at your favorite theaters.

JENN PROSKE – VERY BELLA IN EVERY WAY

There’s a new Bella in town - a.k.a. Becca in the upcoming spoof comedy “Vampires Suck” from geniuses Jason Friedberg and Aaron Seltzer who gave us the laugh-out loud parodies “Scary Movie,” “Date Movie” and “Meet the Spartans.”

Becca, played by Jenn Proske stars in the all-tangled love triangle opposite Matt Lanter, Chris Riggi and Ken Jeong (“Hangover”).  In a recent interview with buzzbox.com, Proske revealed that she’s Team Edward but she still has strong feelings for Jacob.  “I kind of feel a little bit of pressure because I play Becca, the Bella character. Plus, Matt Lanter who plays Edward looks good on set!  Matt was amazing. I had never been on camera before and was nervous that whoever I was working with would judge me. He was so willing to teach me tips and was so friendly. We hang out all the time but we’re just friends,” Proske gushes.

Jenn definitely nailed every bit of Bella’s character such that after one major audition, she immediately got called in for “Vampires Suck.”  This is by far her first major audition after graduating from Boston University at 2009, though Jenn relates that she was I originally got called in for Alice Cullen, but knew that she wasn’t quite right for the role.  “I knew I felt the Kristen Stewart role more so I had to go in 7 or 8 times,” recalls Jenn.
Asked what’s in store for the Twilight fans and Twi-haters in “Vampires Suck” – “There’s something for everyone in this movie! Everything is done in a very funny way and I think it’s hysterical!” Jen says.

“Vampires Suck” opens August 25 in theaters from 20th Century Fox to be distributed by Warner Bros.

Get if Fast, Get it Safe with LBC

In one way or another, some of our family members and friends have left  our country for greener pasture somewhere else, hoping one day they may alleviate the economic situation of their families here and provide for a more comfortable life.  We have heard stories of maltreatment, oppressive principals and abuses to our fellow OFW's, yet still we follow our heart and work hard for the better of our families.
This is one sacrifice people are willing to risk for their love ones here.  They have worked hard and want to send their money to their loved ones' but sad to say, there are still pranks and our migrant workers are being deceived of their money.  What our Filipino migrant workers need is a fast, safe and reliable money remittance service.

Reliability is a primary concern when it comes to remittance. Whether you’re in business, or a person helping your distant relatives, your main concern would be, “Will the money I send reach my family? Will they be able to get it on time, and without any trouble?” "How will I know if they have received it?"

For decades, LBC Peso Padala has given fast and reliable money remittance service even to far-flung, hard-to-reach areas—thanks to its wide network of branches. Currently, there are over 950 LBC branches worldwide serving Filipinos migrant workers, professionals, entrepreneurs and their loved ones.
Receptionist Albert Naarol, 29, who works at a condominium in Mandaluyong City, has been relying solely on LBC Peso Padala to send money to his two siblings in Butuan and his brother in Cebu to support their daily needs. On top of that, he also provides regular financial support to his six-year-old son, Aljun, in Bacolod. Albert has been a loyal LBC Peso Padala client for 10 years.

"Once or twice a month I would be sending them money to support their everyday expenses. And for ten years, not once have I encountered any problems. They always receive the money on time, and I’m very thankful for that,” Albert says.

LBC Peso Padala as business partner
For college student Debbie Allene Ybona on the other hand, LBC Peso Padala allows her to do her sideline business more easily. 20-year-old Debbie started using LBC Peso Padala three months ago when she started online selling.

"Most of my customers use LBC Peso Padala to send me their payments. So far, what I like about LBC is that I've always received those payments promptly without any hassles. Thanks in large part to LBC's reliable service, I am able to run my business more smoothly, even for a beginner like me,” Debbie says.

For a first-time entrepreneur like Debbie, LBC Peso Padala gives her peace of mind, and the confidence to continue to grow her business.

For emergencies
During times when emergency cash needs to be sent quickly to loved ones, LBC Peso Padala can make a world of difference.  Transactions can be done in an instant.  Where ever you may be as long as there is a LBC branch near you, they can make it happen.

Convenient locations
Like many loyal LBC Peso Padala customers who are migrant workers, 29-year-old cook and house help Violy Naranjo relies on the money remittance service because it isn’t just fast, safe and dependable, but also because an LBC branch is conveniently located near her loved ones’ home, where they could easily go to pick up her cash remittances. Her family lives far down south in Ozamis City in the island of Mindanao, while Violy works in Mandaluyong City in Metro Manila.

The Philippines is a vast country with many islands giving distance to our loved ones.  LBC bridges that gap and makes sure we are connected.

"Madali lang magpadala sa LBC. Tapos kapag emergency, halimbawa kailangan ng pambili ng gamot, o kaya pambayad ng tuition ng kapatid ko sa college, madali rin nilang nakukuha yung pinapadala ko," Violy explains.

Whether you're sending or receiving money for financial transactions, or for providing your family's everyday needs, using LBC Peso Padala is the best choice. With its fast, reliable and efficient service combined with a vast network of branches, LBC Peso Padala is your most dependable partner in keeping ties with your loved ones or growing your business.
