FedEx Plans Expansion of Gateway Facility by Establishing a New South China Operations Center at its APAC Hub in Guangzhou, China

FedEx Express, one of the world's largest express transportation companies today announced that it has signed an agreement with Guangdong Airport Authority Logistics Company to expand and upgrade the FedEx Guangzhou Gateway by establishing a new FedEx South China Operations Center at its Asia Pacific Hub at Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport.

The new FedEx South China Operations Centre will cover an area of over 41,000 m2, more than double the size of the current Guangzhou Gateway, and is planned to become operational in 2027. The facility will connect outbound shipments from customers in southern China with FedEx international network through the Asia Pacific Hub. It will also receive and process inbound shipments arriving at the Hub for delivery to local customers. The Center will include offices, state of the art sorting systems, operations areas and a warehouse. It will be able to sort up to 25,000 packages and documents per hour, three times the sorting efficiency of the current facility. FedEx will also integrate frontier technology and sustainability into the facility’s design to provide an eco-friendly working environment.

Globe, WWF encourage in-depth environmental learning for Filipinos via Camp Kalikasan

For an archipelagic country like the Philippines, many of our industries and livelihood are dependent on marine resources. In celebration of the Philippine Environment Month, World Wide Fund for Nature Philippines (WWF-Philippines) and Globe are encouraging Filipinos of all ages to be more proactive in learning about how we can help protect and restore ecosystems by signing up for Camp Kalikasan.

Globe and WWF recently hosted a webinar titled “Climate Change in the Classroom: Understanding the Urgency of Climate Education” with guest speakers from the Department of Education (DepEd), the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), as well as youth environmental advocate Xia Vigor, and WWF-Philippines ambassador Karen Ibasco.

“One of the many things that we want Filipinos to take away from Camp Kalikasan is that our actions can greatly impact the environment – from our daily habits, to the waste we produce, and the carbon emissions we emit. Camp Kalikasan reminds us that we are part of nature. Whatever we do to the environment always has a way back to us,” said Apple Evangelista, Globe's Head of Sustainability and Social Responsibility.

ASEAN Music Showcase Festival 2022 holds its first in-person showcase in Singapore this September 2022!

Southeast Asia’s first collaborative music showcase is set to feature more than 30+ performances from the region and beyond

After holding its first two editions purely online, ASEAN Music Showcase Festival (AMS) goes physical with its first in-person showcase happening on September 10-11, 2022 (Saturday and Sunday) in Haw Par Villa, an 8.5-hectare Asian cultural park located in the bustling city of Singapore.

Singapore, with its excellent infrastructure, government support and being a global air hub - is the perfect sandbox to host the two-day physical event. “Haw Par Villa was chosen for its culturally unique setting and significance within the region, and the events of the festival will take place throughout the park amidst its sculptures and dioramas, making this music showcase festival unabashedly ASEAN,” says AMS co-founder and Director of Singapore-based music consultancy Steady State Records, David Siow. The park also shares the values of AMS in bringing together diverse communities and celebrating their diversity through a common platform, adding another dimension to holding the inaugural physical edition at Haw Par Villa.

The stripped-down track is a Tagalog rendition of “Good For A Time,” released in May 2022 as a collaborative effort between these two Asian acts

Filipina singer-songwriter Bea Lorenzo teams up with Singapore-based artist Benjamin Kheng for the second time with the release of “Panandalian,” a Tagalog rendition of their initial collab track “Good For A Time.” The folk-pop track is also accompanied by the original and an acoustic English version in this bundle.

“Good For A Time,” previously released in March 2022, has nearly 2 million streams to date and growing.

The Great Place to Work® Institute recorded 85% responses from TP Philippines in the Trust Index® Survey, which is part of the rigorous certification process conducted annually by the institute and a definitive global standard of what it means to be a great workplace. AXA Philippines supports marine environmental education through Emma by AXA

AXA has long been guided by its sustainability pillars centered around climate change and biodiversity, as well as inclusive protection. In the Philippines, the company has partnered with numerous groups and causes that share the same advocacy. This August, AXA Philippines is partnering with Oceanus Conservation, a science-based non-profit environmental organization focusing on the conservation and restoration of blue carbon habitats in the Philippines, to promote ocean literacy to Filipino children.

Being an archipelago, the Philippines has a rich biodiversity. However, access to marine environmental education remains limited around the country. Oceanus aims to invest in the future of Filipinos through marine environmental education in local communities and marine-field programs that promote better appreciation of the country’s marine life. Recently, they launched their second educational children’s storybook, “Ocean Adventures with Cory,” that shines a light on the impact of climate change on coral reefs.
