Galaxy S22 and
S22+ are designed to deliver next-level camera experiences, so people can

threats to our environment, and discarded fishing nets are especially harmful

and transforms them into a high-performance material for our smartphones. This
material – used in the Galaxy S22 series’ component, key bracket – contains 20%
recycled ocean-bound plastic[14] from discarded fishing
nets. The Galaxy S22 series also incorporates post-consumer recycled material
in its speaker module, as well as the inner parts of the power and volume keys.
In addition to ocean-bound plastics, we use 100% recycled paper for the
Galaxy S22’s packaging and include a protective film made from recycled
plastic. Every smartphone case is also designed with UL-certified,
eco-conscious materials[15] – such as recycled

The Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with Vision Booster on
Galaxy S22 and S22+ received a certification from VDE Germany for 100 percent
Mobile Color Volume in the DCI-P3 color range, which means your images aren’t

levels of brightness. The display can achieve peak brightness of up to 1750
nits on Galaxy S22+ and 1300 nits on Galaxy S22 improving the contrast between
dark and light aspects of digital content for a more brilliant picture quality,
with a 3,000,000:1 contrast ratio on Galaxy S22+ and a 2,000,000:1 contrast

Discarded fishing nets are purchased through Samsung's
partner that works with local fishermen who collect them from the Indian Ocean
and neighboring coastal areas. Samsung does not directly recover fishing nets
from the ocean.
Ocean-bound plastic is abandoned plastic waste of all
sizes (micro-plastics, mezzo-plastics and macro-plastics) that are located
within 50km of shores in communities or areas where waste management is
inexistent or very inefficient.
