Walk the World - Support the World Food Program

 END HUNGER: WALK THE WORLD
Take a step towards ending hunger with
WFP National Ambassador Against Hunger KC Concepcion
at SM Mall of Asia, on May 29, 5:00AM

PHILIPPINES – “Karon pa jud ko nabusog, Ma’am!” (This is my first time to feel full, Ma’am!), said Shiela Mae Gascon, 9, a grade three student, after eating a hot nutritious meal through the support of the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) for Tugar Elementary School in Kauswagan Municipality in Lanao del Norte.  Tugar Elementary School is just one of the 300 schools that WFP assists with its Emergency School Feeding programme in the conflict-affected provinces of Central Mindanao to help get children into schools and out of hunger.

Hunger and malnutrition are the biggest threats to global health worldwide, and are responsible for a third of all deaths in children under the age of five in the developing world.

Let our voice be heard!  Let us join hands for a good cause.  We fight to end hunger in the world, one step at a time, closer to our goal.  There may be obstacles on the way, but determination, wholehearted volunteers, generous sponsors and the private sector, together with the The World Food Program will make that difference.

This year, thousands of people around the globe are preparing to join WFP and its major corporate partners, TNT, Unilever and DSM, in a walk to raise awareness and money to feed hungry children in some of the poorest countries in the world on May 29, Sunday.

WFP and its partners are passionate about taking action on this important issue and believe that everyone can help by joining Walk the World Pilipinas as a step towards ending hunger.

WHERE: SM Mall of Asia, IMAX Parking lot
WHEN: May 29, 2011, Sunday, 5:00-10:00AM
This year’s Walk the World, which is set to be bigger than the previous years, is open to walkers and runners who are passionate about fighting hunger.  In addition to the traditional 2-km walk, there will be a 5-km run for enthusiasts, both male and female, and a competitive 10-km group run. Proceeds from the event will support approximately 80,000 school children in the provinces of Maguindanao, Lanao del Norte and Lanao del Sur.

Join Walk the World Pilipinas today (www.walktheworld-pilipinas.org) – together we can end hunger.
Bloggers in full force to support Walk the World - End Hunger Program.
It costs WFP just 10 pesos to provide a nutritious meal to a child at school.  School feeding programmes also give parents an extra incentive to keep their children in school, and help to lay a healthy foundation for a better future for the young.

If you can’t join the walk in person, you can still get involved at http://wfp.org/walktheworld with photos, videos and donations.

Kris Aquino releases "My Heart's Journey"

Kris Aquino release her fifth full-length, studio album under Universal Records (first being "Songs of Love and Healing," which reached double platinum in sales; second, "Love and Inspirtation" which reached gold in sales; third, "The Greatest Love" which reached platinum in sales; and fourth is "Blessings of Love") entitled "My Heart's Journey."
"My Heart's Journey" is a spoken-word, special collector's edition CD that features 15 tracks chronicling seven inspiring phases of Kris Aquino's prodigious journey in her colorful like, with love in all of its many forms at the center being the unifying element.

The first segment in the CD is My Journey: The Broken Road. Contrary to what the title may seem to suggest, this chapter documents the paradoxical nature of Kris' life which is characterized by the right blend of trials and triumphs which essentially fuels her immense love for life.

A collaboration of the best singers and all the memorable songs of our time.  My Heart's Journey will surely melt your heart and let you feel why love is always the answer to our questions. Toni Gonzaga performs “God Bless The Broken Road” and KC Concepcion delivers a soulful rendition of “What About Love.”
Christian Bautista gives a masculine twist to “Love Moves In Mysterious Ways” while Jed Madela dishes out a chilling interpretation of “Only Love” and “To Where You Are.” Karylle re-interpreted and breathed life to the seminal classic “It Must Have Been Love.”  Gail Blanco performs “I Will Be Here” and “In Your Eyes” while the inimitable tandem of Regine Velasquez and Lani Misalucha shines in their rendition of “When You Believe.” Zsa Zsa Padilla gives a divinely soothing rendition of “I’d Really Love To See You Tonight.” Nina belts out “I Want To Know What Love Is.”  Other songs included are “Healing.” and “Beautiful In My Eyes” by Jed Madela as well.

And lastly, Christian Bautista performs a bonus track dedicated by Goldilocks to Kris for her birthday entitled “Araw Mo.”

Kris demystifies the misconceived notion that she has everything anyone could ever dream of by baring her deepest hopes and aspirations. Kris is human, and a woman whose sincerest desire is to be loved, valued and respected for who she is and nothing else. Kris’ emotional maturity and wisdom which is the fulfilling result of many years of heartbreak and heartache is communicated in "My Heart's Journey."

“My Heart’s Journey” is available in all leading record bars nationwide and it also comes with a special journal containing inspiring life-changing quotes written by Kris herself.
