Jr. NBA/Jr. WNBA 2016 Regional Selection Camp goes to Cebu March 5-6


Jr. NBA/Jr. WNBA Philippines 2016 presented by Alaska continues its search for skillful ballers aged 10-14 in Cebu on March 5-6 at Don Bosco Technology Center from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. This is the third Regional Selection Camp (RSC) of the NBA’s youth development program this year.

The two-day camp will be run by Jr. NBA Coach Craig Brown together with other Jr. NBA/Jr. WNBA coaches from presenting partner Alaska.

More Than 36,000 Players and 2,700 Coaches Have Participated in the Program Since 2007

The Jr. NBA /Jr. WNBA Philippines 2016 presented by Alaska will return to the Philippines for the ninth consecutive year from Jan. 23-April 24.  The Jr. NBA/Jr. WNBA program is free and open to boys and girls between the ages of 10-14.

JR. NBA/JR. WNBA Philippines 2016 presented by Alaska online registration starts December 21, 2015


WHAT: Online registration for the Coaches Clinics, Open Clinics, and School Clinics of Jr. NBA/Jr. WNBA Philippines 2016 presented by Alaska

WHO: The basketball program is open to all male and female basketball players aged 10 to 14 (born from January 1, 2002 to December 31, 2006).

The Coaches Clinic is open to all school coaches and those who are coaching junior players in the elementary and high school levels.

WHEN: December 21, 2015

HOW: Interested players must log on to www.jrnba.asia/philippines and click on Open Clinic Registration to sign up.

JR. NBA/JR. WNBA Phillpines All-Stars fly to Shenzhen to watch NBA Stars in action


- Fifteen Jr. NBA/Jr. WNBA Philippines All-Stars and 2015 Coach of the Year Winners to join top Jr. NBA participants from Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, and Vietnam at NBA Global Games 2015 in Shenzhen -

The 2015 Jr. NBA/Jr. WNBA Philippines All-Stars will travel to China from Oct. 9-12 to watch the first-ever NBA Global Games in Shenzhen between the Charlotte Hornets and the Los Angeles Clippers at the Shenzhen Universiade Center.  The opportunity to watch a live NBA game is part of the commitment of Jr. NBA/Jr. WNBA presented by Alaska to provide its top participants with a fun, enriching NBA experience.

10 boys, 5 girls top 2015 Jr. NBA/Jr. WNBA National Training Camp


2015 Jr. NBA/Jr. WNBA All-Stars selected from overall field of more than 12,000 who participated in this year’s program since January

Four Alaska Power Campers, two from the Manila Regional Selection Camp and one each from regional selection camps held in Biñan, Baguio, Davao and Bacolod are the new Jr. NBA All-Stars of  Jr. NBA/Jr. WNBA Philippines 2015 presented by Alaska.

Four Manila girls, one from Biñan and one from the Alaska Power Camp make up the new batch of Jr. WNBA All-Stars of the NBA’s global youth development program.

Philadephia 76ers forward Nerlens Noel and WNBA legend Ruth Riley bring basketball to Filipino Youth

Noel and Riley to Attend Jr. NBA/Jr. WNBA Philippines 2015 Presented by Alaska 

Nerlens Noel of the Philadelphia 76ers and WNBA Legend Ruth Riley will travel to Manila to participate in the Jr. NBA/Jr. WNBA Philippines 2015 National Training Camp.  Noel and Riley will help coach participants from all over the country vying to be named 2015 Jr. NBA/Jr. WNBA All-Stars.  The National Training Camp will be held at the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC) Forum from April 24-25 and at the SM Mall of Asia Music Hall on April 26.

Three boys, two girls from Davao make it to National Training Camp of Jr. NBA/Jr. WNBA Philippines 2015 presented by Alaska


Four Davaoeños and one player from Cagayan de Oro are set to pursue their basketball dreams in Manila this April after topping the Regional Selection Camp of Jr. NBA/Jr. WNBA Philippines 2015 presented by Alaska at the University of the Immaculate Conception in Davao City.

Paolo Emanuel Antonio, 14, of Stella Maris Academy in Davao City; Christopher Gonzaga, 14, of the University of the Immaculate Conception, Davao City and Jeffy Malilim, 13, of Corpus Christi School, Cagayan de Oro will vie for the honor of becoming Jr. NBA All-Stars at the National Training Camp in Manila come April.

Baguio and Dagupan players rule Baguio Regional Selection Camp

Young players from Benguet Province and nearby Pangasinan distinguished themselves at the Regional Selection Camp of the Jr. NBA/Jr. WNBA Philippines 2015 presented by Alaska held at the St. Louis University Laboratory High School in this city, March 15, 2015.

Seven young players from these provinces – four boys and three girls -- had statistics and basketball savvy that impressed Jr. NBA/Jr. WNBA coaches and judged them worthy of inclusion in the National Training Camp, the high point of the NBA’s global youth development program, come April.

Three boys and one girl from Puerto Princesa are first qualifiers for Jr. NBA/Jr. WNBA National Training Camp April 24-26


Three boys aged 13 and an 11-year old girl emerged as the first qualifiers for the National Training Camp of the Jr. NBA/Jr. WNBA Philippines 2015 presented by Alaska in Palawan Sunday, February 22.
 

The four standouts were chosen from a field of 198 participants in the first Regional Selection Camp of the NBA league’s international youth basketball program which was held at the Seminario de San Jose in Tiniguiban, Puerto Princesa February 21 and 22.

JR. NBA/JR. WNBA Philippines 2015 Presented by Alaska stages free open clinics in Metro Manila


Jr. NBA/Jr. WNBA Philippines 2015 presented by Alaska begins its series of free open clinics in Metro Manila on Sunday, February 8 at Philadelphia High School in Talayan Village, Quezon City to enable young players to experience NBA-style developmental basketball and learn the Jr. NBA/Jr. WNBA STAR values of Sportsmanship, Teamwork, a positive Attitude and Respect.

All young players are invited to attend.

JR. NBA/JR. WNBA Philippines 2015 presented by Alaska tips off in Manila


- More Than 26,000 Players and 2,000 Coaches Have Participated in the Program Since its Launch -

Jr. NBA/Jr. WNBA Philippines 2015 presented by Alaska tipped off today with a coaches clinic at the British School Manila.  The Jr. NBA program, now running for the eighth consecutive year in the Philippines, will reach more than 700 schools and communities nationwide this year. More than 26,000 players and 2,000 coaches have participated in the program since its launch in 2007.
