Time fates destiny in “Song One” as Anne Hathaway stars as Franny, an anthropologist doing research in Morocco, returns to New York when her brother HENRY (Ben Rosenfield), a young musician, suffers an accident that leaves him comatose.  In a chance instant, a young musician’s life is abruptly interrupted when Henry, absorbed in the music playing on his headphones, steps off a curb into the path of a taxi.

In April 2011, Twentieth Century Fox released Fox Animation and Blue Sky Studio’s CG animated feature “Rio.”  The film was born from the imagination of Carlos Saldanha, who co-directed or directed the global blockbusters “Ice Age,” “Ice Age: The Meltdown” and “Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs.”

INTO THE WILD AND BIGGER ADVENTURE IN “RIO 2”

Carlos Saldanha, who co-directed and directed the global blockbuster “Ice Age” movies had long wanted to write a love letter to his hometown of Rio.  From his imagination came a story about a nerdy, highly domesticated bird who goes on the adventure of a lifetime in that wondrous city that produced the highly successful “Rio” movie released in April 2011 that became a worldwide smash with almost $500 million at the global box office.  

Now, his lead characters Blu and Jewel voiced by Jesse Eisenberg and Anne Hathaway are back in “Rio 2” for a grandeur adventure into the wild with the Nigel the villain at their trail.  To fully realize the scope and breadth of this magical world and its vivid characters, Saldanha brought together an all-star voice cast, led by Oscar® nominees Anne Hathaway and Jesse Eisenberg, Oscar and Grammy®-winner Jamie Foxx, acclaimed musical artist will.i.am, actor-musician Jemaine Clement, comedic actress Leslie Mann, actor Rodrigo Santoro (a Brazilian native), actor-comedian George Lopez, and funnyman Tracy Morgan.

“Rio 2” continues the grandeur of adventure as we see Blu and Jewel raise their children while unexpectedly meeting relatives in the wild and dodging dangers brought about by familiar and new set of villains. Together with their oddball company of friends, Blu and Jewel venture from the magical city of Rio De Janeiro the wild Amazon to raise their children.  Along the way, they rediscover Jewel’s long-lost father Eduardo (voiced by Oscar nominee Andy Garcia) and all kinds of new friends and baddies set to rock the Amazon jungle with laughter and exciting adventure in 3D.

TWENTIETH CENTURY FOX ANIMATION ANNOUNCES “RIO 2” CASTING

Anne Hathaway, Jesse Eisenberg and the rest of the original gang are back in “Rio 2” for the follow-up of the 2011 animated hit “Rio” along with a flock of top actors and musical talents new to the franchise, as announced by Vanessa Morrison, president of 20th Century Fox Animation.
    
The film is now in production at Blue Sky Studios. Twentieth Century Fox's international rollout begins March 20, 2014, followed by its domestic release on April 11, 2014 (April 10 in Phils.).

Returning to RIO 2, a world rich with grandeur, character, color and music are Anne Hathaway, Jesse Eisenberg, JemaineClement, will.i.am, Tracy Morgan, George Lopez, Leslie Mann,Rodrigo Santoro, Brazilian singer Bebel Gilberto, Jake T. Austin, and Jamie Foxx.

Warner Bros. Pictures’ and Legendary Pictures brings to the screen “The Dark Knight Rises,” the epic conclusion to filmmaker Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight trilogy.

Christopher Nolan says, “Our story picks up eight years later, when it seems that Batman and Commissioner Gordon have succeeded—the Dark Knight is no longer needed in Gotham.  In that regard, Bruce Wayne has won the battle, but he is traumatized by what happened and doesn’t know how to move on from being the figure of Batman.  ‘The Dark Knight Rises’ very much deals with the consequences of his and other characters’ actions in the previous films.”

Love and Other Drugs movie review

Maggie (Hathaway) is an alluring free spirit who won't let anything, including a formidable personal challenge, tie her down. But she meets her match in Jamie Randall (Gyllenhaal), whose relentless and nearly infallible charm serve him well with the ladies and in the cutthroat world of pharmaceutical sales. Maggie and Jamie's evolving relationship takes them both by surprise, as they find themselves under the influence of the ultimate drug: love. 

I have waited for this movie for quite sometime, admittedly I am rom-com fan, and I expected this to be one of the most memorable ones for quite sometime and as far as the movie goes, yes I loved it. 

 

Jake Gyllenhaal plays Jamie Randall, an ambitious salesman, finding his way to the top, and in the process finding his way to the heart of Maggie, played by Anne Hathaway.  It started out just out of curiosity that they found each other to satisfy their sexual urges, yet through the rough times that their fates have crossed, they experience love.  And with the challenges that are inevitable with the condition of Maggie, they found themselves much more in love, and needing each other more in their whirlwind relationship.

You will experience love, hatred, happy and sad times.... a more than complete movie, sad thing is that some scenes were cut to fit the PG13 audience, but still there was one scene with breast exposure, so I would rather have the R18 rating than have those scenes cut, anyways I am sure you will have a good time watching it.  Relax and enjoy the movie.

“Love & Other Drugs” showcases anew Anne Hathaway’s unconventional choices as she takes on the role of Maggie, a young artist afflicted with Parkinson’s disease that prevents her into entering life-changing decisions especially when it comes to relationships. Anne’s extraordinary risks in her career continue in “Love & Other Drugs” where she takes another brave choice and pushes her boundaries in  a story of love’s powerful nature between a couple who tries to resist but eventually surrenders.

I can still remember her days at "The Princess Diaries", now she's all grown up and is taking on more challenging roles, which has made her one of the most sought after actresses of our time.

 

“Love & Other Drugs” tells of two people, both free-spirited who started out having casual sex which then evolved into something much more complex.  Maggie’s disease makes it difficult for her to continue her work, slowly impairing her speech and motor skills.  Jake on the other hand plays Jamie Randall who is an ultimate seducer working at the giant pharmaceutical Pfizer. The two initially agrees to a no-strings-attached arrangement, just sex whenever and wherever each of them needs it.  But as their casual relationship turns into weeks, both feels an uneasy change when Jamie unexpectedly mans up and starts taking responsibility for Maggie. Maggie, on the other hand is slowly opening up to the possibility of depending on to somebody to entrust her life.

“When Maggie meets Jake, she is at a transitional moment in her life,” says Hathaway.  “She hasn’t accepted her challenges, and more importantly, she hasn’t been able to accept herself.”

Hathaway and the filmmakers made sure that Maggie’s condition shapes the character’s attitude and was always in the service of the character.  “I loved how seemingly fearless Maggie is,” says Hathaway.  “I was moved by the challenges she faces and by the façade she presents to the world, as an idealized sex goddess who is fine with everything and anything. But there’s an aching and yearning there; she’s scared and vulnerable, and a wonderful person under all of that.  As an actress, you dream of opportunities to explore those things.”    

 

She received advice from another real warrior in the drug wars, Lucy Roucis, a professional actor with Parkinson’s disease (diagnosed when she was in her late twenties) who now works in Denver with an acting troupe called PHAMALY (the Physically Handicapped Actors and Musical Artists League, Inc.).  In the film, Roucis also plays a part as a person afflicted with Parkinson’s whose shtick at a convention for Parkinson’s patients helps Maggie begin to come to terms with her condition.

 

Anne Hathaway shot to stardom when she starred opposite Meryl Streep in the sleeper hit “The Devil Wears Prada.”  She eventually secured her place among the highest echelon of actresses when she starred in Jonathan Demme’s critically acclaimed “Rachel Getting Married” where she garnered nominations from Academy Award, Golden Globe®, Independent Spirit and SAG Award in the lead actress category.

 

Hathaway recently starred in box office hits – the ensemble romantic comedy “Valentine’s Day” and in “Alice in Wonderland.”  Her other film credits include “Bride Wars,” “Get Smart,” “Becoming Jane,” “Passengers,”  “Brokeback Mountain,” “The Princess Diaries” and “The Princess Diaries 2: The Royal Engagement,” “Havoc,” “Ella Enchanted” and “The Other Side of Heaven.”  She also stars as the lead voice Jewel in the upcoming colorful family movie “Rio.”

ANNE & JAKE HIGH ON “LOVE AND OTHER DRUGS”

Jake Gyllenhaal and Anne Hathaway previously left jaws dropped in the adult movie “Brokeback Mountain.”  Years later, after both leaped from one box-office hit to another, Gyllenhaal and Hathaway reunite in the upcoming romantic comedy “Love And Other Drugs” for a slap of the awe-stunning realities in adult relationships. 

            Directed by Edward Zwick and based on Jamie Reidy’s humorous memoir “Hard Sell: The Evolution of a Viagra Salesman,” the movie tells the story of Reidy’s stint as Pfizer salesman in the 1990s.  As a salesman for Pfizer and considered to be the Jerry Maguire of the prescriptive drug world,  Reidy (played by Gyllenhaal) gets involved with Maggie (Hathaway) who won’t let anything or anyone tie her down. 

            Romancing each other within the political and social context of medical breakthroughs, Jamie and Maggie’s evolving relationship takes them both by surprise as they find themselves under the influence of the ultimate drug: love.
