The Love feels in “1ST KO SI 3RD” - Exclusive at Ayala Malls Cinemas starting November 12

“1st Ko si 3rd” made its debut in this year’s Cinemalaya X’s and has generated most of the “feels” amongst all the entries in the New Breed category.   Before heading to compete at the prestigious Hawaii International Film Festival (HIFF), “1st Ko si 3rd” is going to be shown in (Phils.) theaters nationwide exclusively at Ayala Malls Cinemas starting November 12.

“1st Ko si 3rd” is about Corazon (played by Nova Villa), a recently retired government employee who's been married to Alejandro (Dante Rivero) for the past four decades.  But their monotonous marriage is about to change when Corazon and Third (Freddie Webb), her first love, crosses path once again after their abrupt separation in the past.  Initially avoiding the opportunities to meet up with Third, Corazon finally finds herself rekindling old feelings and living each moment with the first love of her life.

Family never goes out of style in "Parental Guidance"

Despite the great divide between generations that parents, grandparents and children now face – “Parental Guidance” demonstrates that families are always in high fashion since then and now.

Hollywood’s iconic comedy icons Billy Crystal and Bette Midler are caught between the traditional and modern –of sugars and organic, of yes and no’s, of gadgets and outdoors in helping take care of their three grandchildren while their new-age multitasking daughter Alice played by Marisa Tomei leaves town for a few days.

A dose of "Parental Guidance"

Old will be new in the upcoming truthful family comedy “Parental Guidance” starring Billy Crystal, Bette Midler, Marisa Tomei and Tom Everett Scott.

Billy Crystal plays Artie Decker, a well-meaning but rather self-centered man who loves his life and his wife  Diane (Bette Midler), but has never bothered to connect with his grandchildren.  Time soon came to reconnect when they agreed to babysit their three grandkids when their type-A helicopter parents (Marisa Tomei, Tom Everett Scott) go away for work.  But when 21st century problems collide with Artie and Diane’s old school methods of tough rules, lots of love and old-fashioned games, it’s learning to bend – and not holding your ground – that brings a family together.

Mr. Poppers Penguins - a movie to watch with the family

Growing up in Brooklyn, New York, young Tommy Popper looks forward to the moments when, on his tiptoes to reach a ham radio in his bedroom, he can talk to his world-traveling father. Years later, Tommy is now Mr. Popper, a highly successful real estate developer in Manhattan. Amicably divorced from Amanda, with two children he sees on alternate weekends, Mr. Popper lives the life of luxury in his ultra-modern Park Avenue apartment and is well on his way to becoming partner at his prestigious firm. That is, until the morning a final gift from Popper's late father, a souvenir from Antarctica, arrives in a crate at Popper's front door.

Inside the wooden box, nestled amongst ice packs, is a two-foot tall penguin with bright orange feet. Not a toy penguin, or a stuffed bird from the taxidermist, as Popper at first assumes, but a real, live penguin, who scampers across Popper's floor and emits loud honks. Eager to be rid of this wild creature, Popper contacts every city and state agency imaginable, but no one is willing to take a pet penguin. His call to Antarctica to try to ship the bird back instead results in the arrival of another five penguins at Popper's door.

As he gets acquainted with his pet penguins, his winged roommates, Popper's life quickly unravels: his swanky New York apartment is turned into a snowy winter wonderland, the deal he's long been working on is derailed, and he almost lands in jail. But thanks to his new charges, Popper comes to understand the importance of family, human and otherwise.

My movie review

Did I enjoy this movie?  The answer is YES, and that is a very entertaining YES!  Jim Carrey is just fabulous, although many would not agree, if you have known him from the Ace Ventura days, well so much has changed, and as we all do, we age and so does Jim, but he never loss his charisma, his voice replications and his talent in acting.  And like whiskey, he's better as he ages.

The penguins used here in the movie were real live penguins, of course CGI played its part but most of it was definitely the penguins and they are so lovable... even though all they do in the movie is honk, they played a major role in giving us great entertainment and to let Mr. Popper (Carrey) realize the importance of family.

Take the whole family and watch this movie, brought to us by 20th Century Fox and now showing at all your favorite theaters nationwide.

Take Dad and watch this weekend to celebrate Father's Day.  Thank you Jim Carrey for making us laugh again.  And I just love Pippy, Mr. Popper's trusted assistant, watch her and you'll know what I mean.  See you at the movies.
