Jack Black Channels His Inner Teenage Girl In “Jumanji: Welcome To The Jungle”

When Bethany, a high school self-obsessed queen bee, is drawn into the mysterious Jumanji game, she chooses to play a “curvy genius,” Dr. Shelly Oberon, who will help navigate in the game as an expert in cartography, archeology and paleontology.
Just one thing: Shelly is a nickname for Sheldon. The image-conscious Bethany is suddenly, in her words, “an overweight middle-aged man” – that is, Jack Black. (And Bethany is not surprised when Shelly’s weakness turns out to be endurance.)

Returning and new cast in Dreamworks' action-packed animation “KUNG FU PANDA 3”

One of the most successful animated franchises in the world returns with its biggest comedy adventure yet, “Kung Fu Panda 3” that will open March 9 nationwide (2D, 3D and IMAX 3D screens).  The film marks the return of the plump black-and-white bear who has only one aspiration – to become an expert in a martial art that requires agility, mental prowess and lightning-fast reflexes.  It was a formidable, if not impossible quest.  But then Po doesn’t know the word “impossible.”  He’s always striving to be the best he can be…to be his own hero.

As Po attempts to instruct his idols – Tigress, Monkey, Viper, Crane and Mantis – in the finer points of kung fu, chaos reigns in the Training Hall, a place of discipline, honor and sacred practice. Po’s cluelessness as a teacher reminds us of the character we met and fell and love with in KUNG FU PANDA.

Gulliver's Travels... a modern twist to a classic favorite

Gulliver's Travels in Digital 3D
Lemuel Gulliver is a mail room clerk at a New York newspaper. After Gulliver bluffs his way into an assignment writing about the secrets of the Bermuda Triangle, he is hurtled to an undiscovered land, Lilliput. In this fantastical new world, Gulliver is a bigger-than-life figure -- in size and ego -- especially after he starts telling tall tales, taking credit for his world's greatest inventions, and placing himself at the center of its most historic events. Gulliver's position is enhanced even further when he leads his new friends in a daring battle against their longtime enemies. But when Gulliver loses it all and puts the Lilliputians in peril, he must find a way to undo the damage. Gulliver only becomes a true giant among men when he learns that it's how big you are on the inside that counts.

Gullilver's Travels is one of the world's most read books and is being passed down generation after generation, it has captured many minds and hearts with its heart warming tales.  It even has landed on TV during the year 1996, with Ted Danson as Lemuel Gulliver, which has won numerous Emmys and various awards.  This year, finds us with another remake now on the big screen, with notorious and ever so witty Jack Black landing the lead role as Lemuel Gulliver.  And a small (Lilliputans) but big hearted cast.
Jason Segel (How I met your Mother) lands the role of Horatio, while Emily Blunt (The Devil wears Prada) plays Princess Mary, who showcases their comedic side with songs and dances.
Amanda Peet joins the cast as Darcy Silverman (2012), the writer with whom Gulliver (Black) has a secret crush on.  I would never thought of anyone better to star in the lead role of Lemuel Gulliver,  Jack Black who is known for his antics in School of Rock and his successes as the voice for Panda in "Kung Fu Panda" played a very major role in the film.  He kind of grows on you.
I believe director Rob Letterman (Monsters vs Aliens) gave Black a go ahead to be himself in the film as shown very clearly in some scenes, and it is very "Jack Black" indeed.  It is his own style that has made him a great actor and appreciated by many.  The special effects used in the film were very realistic especially that they have adapted the Digital 3D experience to it.  It feels in many times that you are just one of the Lilliputians, staring at the giant Gulliver.  It may have been a totally new movie since the storyline from the book was just used as a guide, but I had fun watching it.  See it in Digital 3D.

Showing at your favorite theaters in Digital 3D starting January 8, 2011.  Thank you 20th Century Fox for the advance screening.
