Maze Runner was Ki Hong Lee’s first feature film role. Lee played Minho in the film, a key ally to Thomas when he first arrived in the Glade – the prison he found himself in at the start of the movie. He returned in the follow-up, “Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials,” and comes back once again to complete the trilogy in The Death Cure. But at the end of The Scorch Trials, Minho was captured by the forces of WCKD, and so The Death Cure starts with the Gladers on a mission to save their friend, and bust him out of the prison train he’s being transported on.

Creating “THE MAZE RUNNER” World
Based on the bestselling YA series of novel of the same title by James Dashner, “The Maze Runner” brings a group of young boys (and a girl) together in a secluded place known as the Glade where they come and stay but does not have any idea of who they really are and what brought them there. Starring, Dylan O’Brien, Ki Hong Lee, Kaya Scodelario, Aml Ameen, Will Poulter and Thomas Brodie-Sangster, the movie is directed by Wes Ball who envisioned the Maze walls to be modern and ancient.
The towering structure’s creeping vines and seemingly empty corridors mask a threat that terrifies even the most hardened and veteran Gladers. The hidden creatures, which the kids call Grievers – though none has actually seen one, preys on those who stay too long in the Maze. This means the boys must get out of the Maze before its walls close because nobody survives a night there.
Check out the cast and filmmakers video here on the making of the walls: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f4zAhE67Gyw&feature=youtu.be
“THE MAZE RUNNER” opens September 17 in cinemas from 20th Century Fox to be distributed by Warner Bros.

“THE MAZE RUNNER” Manual and Prayer
Set in the future where humanity now treads, “The Maze Runner” brings together a group of boys with the exception of one girl in a virtual prison called the Glade where they are mysteriously delivered into to find out who’s the best and fittest - their strength, emotion and intelligence are tested by a covert group of researchers to see who will last in a post-apocalyptic world outside the Glade.
Thomas (played by Dylan O’Brien) enters the Glade with nary a memory of himself except for his name. Once inside the Glade, he is equally welcomed and scorned by the boys that have been there ahead of him. Naturally curious, Thomas begins to question their entrapment and starts to find a way out through a dangerous maze within the Glade where massive walls are built that keeps on changing paths every single day. Along with the elite of runners named Minho (played by Ki Hong Lee), Thomas runs the maze in the morning before the predators, known as the Grievers, come out.

Korean teen actor Ki Hong Lee stars as Elite Runner in "The Maze Runner"
Thomas (O'Brien) wakes up in a lift, moving slowly upward. As the box grinds to a halt and the doors open, he finds himself among a colony of boys who welcome him to the Glade – a large open expanse surrounded by enormous concrete walls. Thomas’ mind is blank. He has no knowledge of where he is, doesn’t know where he came from, and he can’t remember his parents, his past, or even his own name.
