Dad and Son time in “DIARY OF A WIMPY KID: DOG DAYS”

Dad and Son time in Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Dog Days

School’s out and Greg (Zachary Gordon) is looking forward to enjoying the best summer of all time in “Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Dog Days.”  But his dad Frank (Steve Zahn) thinks otherwise and decides that some father-son bonding should be in order.  Greg frantically hatches a plan to pretend he has a job at a ritzy country club – but even that fails to keep Greg away from the season’s dog days, including embarrassing mishaps at a public pool and a camping trip that goes horribly wrong.

In the new film, author Jeff Kinney (returning as executive producer), director David Bowers, producers Nina Jacobson and Brad Simpson, and screenwriters Maya Forbes and Wally Wolodarsky, focus on the father-son relationship of Frank and Greg Heffley, as played by Steve Zahn and Zachary Gordon.

Rowley in Diary of a Wimpy Kid : Dog Days

Rowley's Tips!
Straight from the ever dependable Rowley

Check out these safety tips from Rowley on how to deal with adults to save yourself from the ordeals of being grounded.

Wimpy kid Greg Heffley’s best friend Rowley has given friendship a cool and solid splash since appearing in author Greg Kinney’s “Diary of a Wimpy Kid” book series and movies.

Typifying an epitome of an ideal best friend in today’s crazy-cut hub of growing teens, Rowley played by Robert Capron in the “Diary of a Wimpy Kid” movies is back the 3rd time in “Diary of A Wimpy Kid: Dog Days.”   Rowley, a parent-abiding teen leads his best friend Greg Heffley with their other friends out of trouble in and out of school.  The very dependable and charming Rowley takes in all the fun with a wise twist to keep out of the punishment radar from parents and school authorities alike.

In the movie “Diary of a Wimpy Kid 3: Dog Days,” the filmmakers and writers based the story from Kinney’s third and fourth books – The Last Straw and Dog Days.

Greg’s journals continues of the big screen in “Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Dog Days"

“Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Dog Days” is the third and latest big screen installment of author Jeff Kinney’s wildly popular series of illustrated novels about wise-cracking but hapless middle school student Greg Heffley (Zachary Gordon). As Greg confides to his diary (though, as he likes to point out, “It’s NOT a diary, it’s a journal!”), middle school is “the dumbest idea ever invented,” a never-ending ordeal involving – among other appalling things – wedgies, bullies, morons and swirlies. And if you don’t know what a swirly is, then lucky you.

Returning with Zachary Gordon for more mayhem in the community are his brother Rodrick (Devon Bostick) who’s older but not wiser and his best friend Rowley (Robert Capron) whose wholesome outlook in life makes him the coolest kid around along with Fregley (Grayson Russell), Holly (Peyton List), Patty (Laine MacNeil) and Chirag (Karan Brar).

Diary of a Wimpy Kid : Dog days

 MORE TEENAGE MISADVENTURES IN
“DIARY OF A WIMPY KID: DOG DAYS” MOVIE

Greg Heffley, the kid who made “wimpy” cool, is looking forward to his summer vacation in “Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Dog Days” but when his dad (Steve Zahn) decides they should spend more time together, Greg does everything he can to keep his father from ruining his summer vacation.

In “Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Dog Days,” which combines elements of both the third and fourth of the “Wimpy Kid” books, the good news is that school is out for the summer and Greg is looking forward to a vacation spent playing video games, hanging out with his best friend, Rowley, and working his way into the affections of the girl he has a crush on, Holly Hills. The bad news is that Greg Heffley being Greg Heffley, nothing is going to go as planned.
