COMCO SEA Wins Big in the 19th Philippine Quill with 3 Top Awards and 30 Metals

Trailblazing and global award-winning communications agency COMCO Southeast Asia has accomplished yet another milestone after winning 3 Top Awards and 30 metals from the prestigious 19th Philippine Quill Awards organized by the International Association of Business Communicators’ (IABC) Philippines.

For the much-coveted Communication Management and COVID Communications categories, COMCO Southeast Asia bagged both Top Awards for its landmark initiative “Dear Survivor: The COMCO Southeast Asia Write to Ignite Blogging Project Season 2” besting over 800 entries nationwide. The “Write to Ignite Blogging Project” is an initiative of ComCo Southeast Asia championing the triumph of the human spirit through inspiring stories during these challenging times. “Dear Survivor: The COMCO Southeast Asia Write to Ignite Blogging Project Season 2” was co-presented by Eastern Communications and Jobstreet, sponsored by AirAsia and Xiaomi, and supported by Teleperformance. Beneficiaries of the program include Gawad Kalinga, Make-a-Wish Foundation, Save the Children, World Vision, and WWF.

COMCO Mundo League of Enterprises Unveils New Global Headquarters

This year brings yet another milestone for COMCO SEA as it opens its global headquarters in Makati’s Central Business District as part of its expansion. The new headquarters will house COMCO Mundo League of Enterprises’ current and upcoming ventures - COMCO Southeast Asia (SEA), COMCO Middle East & Africa (MEA), Camp COMCO Alumni Society, Citizen COMCO Advocacy Program, SEA Wave Pop Culture Studio, and Taro Digital AOX. Each area is inspired by different pop culture references rooted in COMCO’s love for movies, series, music, books, and all the emerging platforms out there. The COMCO SEA workstation is called the “Millennium Falcon” while the executive office is dubbed the “Cerebro”. The rest of the areas are “Rivendell” for the Corporate Services Unit, “Black Castle” for the Digital and Multimedia Arts Unit, “Watch Tower Hall” for the conference room, “Bifrost Bridge” for the reception, “Room of Requirements” for the stock room, and “Wooley Hall” for the lounge area.

COMCO's Ferdinand Bondoy wins PR Champion of the Year Gold Award in the regional PR Awards

COMCO Southeast Asia (SEA)’s Regional Integration and Chief Executive Director, Mr. Ferdinand L. Bondoy, bagged the Gold Award for the PR Champion of the Year (Agency) – at the Marketing Interactive PR Awards 2022 in Singapore.

Marketing Interactive's PR Awards is the definitive awards programme for PR practitioners on both the client and agency side, designed to recognize outstanding work in the PR and communications industry across Southeast Asia, South Asia and Australia - New Zealand regions.

For the PR Champion of the Year (Agency) award, Mr. Bondoy won for outstanding leadership and excellence from an agency-side leader who has made a significant impact on their PR campaigns, executions and results.

Global award winning communications agency COMCO Southeast Asia, the only Philippine communications agency finalist in the prestigious Public Relations & Communications Association Asia Pacific (PRCA APAC) Awards 2022 wins the top award for the Purpose Category.

The Agency won the Purpose Award for Dear Survivor: COMCO Southeast Asia's Write to Ignite Blogging Project Season 2 which was co-presented by Eastern Communications and Jobstreet, sponsored by AirAsia, Xiaomi Philippines and supported by Teleperformance. Coming from its successful Blazing Sapphire 5th anniversary celebration in 2021 and as part of its expansion plan in 2022, trailblazing and global award-winning integrated communications agency COMCO Southeast Asia proudly announces the appointment of seasoned public relations and communications practitioner Joyce Yu as the Agency’s newest Deputy Account Operations Director for Marketing PR.

Joyce Yu is a public relations and communications expert with more than a decade of experience working in the field. A graduate of AB Journalism from the University of Sto. Tomas, she specializes in media relations, copywriting, social media management, event management, and journalism.

COMCO Southeast Asia’s Leader Ferdinand Bondoy elected to UK-based Chartered Institute of Public Relations’ (CIPR) International Committee

 

COMCO Southeast Asia’s Regional Integration and Chief Executive Director, Mr. Ferdinand L. Bondoy, has been elected to the International Committee of the United Kingdom (UK) based Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR) composed of PR leaders from across the world – Europe, the Americas, Asia-Pacific, and Africa.

Mr. Bondoy is the only committee member based in the Southeast Asian region and he brings in diversity and representation in the globally renowned professional body for public relations practitioners. He will also be the lead for online events of CIPR International.

Founded in the United Kingdom, the CIPR is the world’s only Royal Chartered professional body for public relations practitioners, with nearly 10,000 members across the globe. As pioneers in the industry, the CIPR champions its expertise in public relations through standards and skill guidance to accelerate development among PR practitioners.

As COMCO Southeast Asia culminates its Blazing Sapphire 5th Anniversary celebration with the launch of COMCO Middle East & Africa and COMCO AOX League of Enterprises, the trailblazing regional integrated communications agency also bags Best PR Agency in Southeast Asia - Silver Award and Best COVID-19 Response - Diamond Award for its work with Jobstreet Philippines at the 2021 ASEAN PR Excellence Awards, and a Gold Award for its work with Eastern Communications at the Marketing Events Awards 2021.

From an academic scholar of public relations to a thought leader in the communications field, award-winning communications practitioner and COMCO Southeast Asia’s Regional Integration & Chief Executive Director, Partner and Co-Founder Ferdinand L. Bondoy has been appointed to lead the industry’s student programs – the Students’ PR Congress (rebranded to Students’ PR Con) and Grand Prix (Hack Sprint edition) of the Public Relations Society of the Philippines (PRSP) and the Student Quill Awards of the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC) Philippines.

Mr. Bondoy also served as one of the regional jurors of the ICCO (International Communications Consultancy Organization) Next Generation PR World Cup. The Southeast Asian leg of the competition for young PR practitioners was organized by the Public Relations and Communications Association Asia Pacific (PRCA APAC). He was also elected as a member of the United Kingdom based Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR) International Communications Committee composed of PR leaders from across the world - Europe, the Americas, Asia and Africa.

COMCO Southeast Asia culminates 5th anniversary celebration with the launch of COMCO Middle East & Africa and unveiling of its 10-year masterplan

COMCO Southeast Asia (SEA) culminated its Blazing Sapphire 5th Anniversary celebration with a bang as it launched COMCO Middle East & Africa (MEA) and unveiled its 10-year masterplan that gave an overview of the continued growth and evolution of the trailblazing and award-winning communications agency.

To mark its 5th year in the business, COMCO SEA held a year-long 5-part celebration. Kicking things off was the virtual townhall and digital unveiling of COMCO SEA’s brand evolution, while the summer marked the inauguration of the Camp COMCO Alumni Society “Unity Games”, a celebration of the company’s strong alumni culture where graduates of the company’s mentorship program were reunited. Meanwhile, bloggers and content creators across the country sharpened their storytelling skills anew as COMCO SEA held the season 2 of the groundbreaking “Write to Ignite Blogging Project” with Dear Survivor as this year’s theme.

Participating in the effort of rebuilding the nation, Citizen COMCO Advocacy Program launched “5 Gifts to the Community” via the Cause Marketing for Good initiative with World Vision. Aside from championing social, micro and small enterprises, Citizen COMCO is at the forefront of other advocacies such as children, culture, environment and regional collaboration. The last leg of the celebration is the Blazing Sapphire Main Event where several major initiatives were unveiled.

Aside from plaguing the health of people all over the world, COVID-19 has affected global economies, with businesses closing down leaving millions of people jobless. In developing countries like the Philippines, small businesses are hit the hardest as they struggle to survive in the current climate. C

onsumers are looking for brands that care about social issues, but with most business enterprises in the country made up of micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs), these businesses might not have social issues at the top of their priority list as they try to cope with the pandemic. In line with this, World Vision in the Philippines, an international child-focused non-profit organization, has partnered with ComCo Southeast Asia, a trailblazing and globally award-winning integrated communications agency in the region, for Cause Marketing for Good – a campaign to support MSMEs during these difficult times and to teach them how they can champion social issues through their marketing efforts.

SM Cinema’s Reel-to-Real campaign continues the winning streak at the 54th Anvil Awards


Following their international wins from the Marketing Events Awards in Singapore and the MarCom awards in USA, SM Cinema garnered prestigious awards yet again for its Reel-to-Real campaign, this time in the local scene, from the 54th Anvil Awards, dubbed as the Oscars of Public Relations (PR)!

Organized by the Public Relations Society of the Philippines (PRSP), the Anvil Awards recognizes the best of the country’s public relations programs and tools. SM Cinema’s Reel-to-Real campaign took home the Gold Anvil for PR Tools: Exhibit and Special Event – Fan or Consumer Experience and Silver Anvil for PR Program Directed at Specific Stakeholders – Consumers.
