Bayad Champions Financial Inclusion with Quezon City Local Government

Bayad, the pioneer brand in the outsourced payment collection system in the Philippines, together with its parent institution MERALCO, ties up with the local government of Quezon City as it holds its flagship livelihood training program “QC Pangkabuhayan”.


Now on its third year, the said event was held last January 23 to 25, 2024 at Serbisyong Bayan, Batasan Hills, Quezon City and at Quezon City Municipal Hall.


Over 2,400 residents participated in the event and were trained with effective ways in starting a business. Alongside this, Bayad introduces Bayad Asensoan easy-to-use bills payment and loading business mobile application enabling micro-entrepreneurs to become Bayad Agents in their communities and earn additional income.

Bayad, the biggest and widest multi-channel bills payment platform in the Philippines, seals partnership with Omega Business Consulting, Inc. (Omega BCI), a financial management service provider that delivers a robust suite of accounting, auditing, data processing, and integrated software services to its local and international clients in the retail, banking, and fintech space.

Bayad partners with Quezon City Government for ‘Trash to Cashback’ Program

As the country’s trusted authority in real-time bills payment services, Bayad has recently partnered with the Quezon City Local Government to foster a waste trading program called, “Trash to Cashback.”

Launched in March 2021, the "Trash to Cashback'' program of the Local Government Unit of Quezon City aims to encourage their residents to exchange various recyclables with essential goods at the LGU’s My Basurero Eco-Community Kiosks. Branded as Eco Warriors, QC residents are able to make their transactions by logging in their Environmental Points, otherwise known as EPs, via BeepXtra’s platform. 

The latter, being a trusted name in developing cloud-based loyalty programs, works hand in hand with Bayad and the QC LGU to broaden the benefits of the “Trash to Cashback” program.

BSP grants EMI license for Bayad App

In the face of an expanding digital economy and the country’s aim to become a cash-lite society, Bayad, the Philippines’ most trusted payment authority, obtained its license to operate as an Electronic Money Issuer (EMI) from the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas.

The EMI license authorizes the company to deliver e-wallet services through its newly revamped all-in-one pera transaction app, Bayad. The accreditation allows the company to convert consumers’ cash into electronic money which they can use to transact online to pay bills, remit money, purchase mobile load, and shop for products and services in partner merchant stores. In addition, customers can withdraw and add money to their Bayad wallets through online bank transfers and over-the-counter Bayad Centers.

Bayad App customers can soon expect to pay over 1,000 types of bills – from utilities, insurance, government contributions and services, and more – a service that has long been enjoyed by payers transacting through Bayad’s over 45,000 physical touchpoints nationwide. Other valuable services such as QR payments, rewards, insurance, savings accounts, personal loans, and credit scoring will also be enabled.
