As the country’s trusted authority in real-time bills payment services, Bayad has recently partnered with the Quezon City Local Government to foster a waste trading program called, “Trash to Cashback.”

Launched in March 2021, the "Trash to Cashback'' program of the Local Government Unit of Quezon City aims to encourage their residents to exchange various recyclables with essential goods at the LGU’s My Basurero Eco-Community Kiosks. Branded as Eco Warriors, QC residents are able to make their transactions by logging in their Environmental Points, otherwise known as EPs, via BeepXtra’s platform.

The latter, being a trusted name in developing cloud-based loyalty programs, works hand in hand with Bayad and the QC LGU to broaden the benefits of the “Trash to Cashback” program.

The said venture now enables the conversion of Environment Points to pay for their bills. This means that QC residents or Eco Warriors can exchange their various recyclables into Peso credits  to settle their bills in real-time,  whether this be  electric charges, water charges, e-loading, insurance, remittance, electronic toll collection, airline booking, or medical reimbursements through the Bayad App at authorized Bayad Centers in Quezon City which are located at Upper Ground Floor, Ever Gotesco Center, Commonwealth Avenue; Sauyo Branch, 591 Quirino Highway, Novaliches; and Gulod Branch, 894 Quirino Highway, Novaliches, Quezon City.

According to Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte, the "Trash to Cashback" program is the LGU’s response to strengthen the waste recycling efforts of the city.  Currently, Quezon City remains the most densely populated city in the Philippines with around 2.7 million residents, generating tons of garbage a day. "This is definitely a win-win situation for everyone. As more people learn the habit of recycling, we are not only helping save the environment, but we are also providing them with the opportunity to reap special rewards while contributing to a positive endeavor," Belmonte added.

Bayad President and CEO Lawrence Ferrer expressed, “Bayad has remained steadfast in partnering with the local sector to cater to the needs of the community. We are happy to be of service as our payment solutions help encourage the people of Quezon City to manage their plastic waste and care for the environment. Rest assured that we will continue looking for more ways to differentiate our brand, innovate our services, and contribute to building a more progressive society.”

The general public can download the Bayad App  via the Android Play Store or App Store.
