Day 1 - dinner and sleeping time

Since we had already arrived late here in our hotel.  We checked-in on the 19th floor as it was where their reception was and rooms were from the 10th to the 18th floor.  Reception speaks good English, that's good as it made the check-in process much easier.  But there is one thing that spoiled the evening, the receptionist told us that only the smoking rooms were available and that we had to stay on them for tonight, so we really had no choice and he offered us to change rooms the next day.  When we got to the room, there was really a heavy smell of cigarettes and I really hate it.
 Check-in on the 19th floor

I did a mistake of not reiterating that I wanted a non-smoking room.  So, be reminded when booking for a hotel room anytime, anyplace be sure to reiterate on the remarks your request for a non-smoking room.
The rooms were small but just enough, since most of the time we will be outdoors.  Why did I book this hotel though.  I researched TRIP ADVISOR, and this was on the top 10 list of hotels in Seoul and also one of the cheapest since we are quite limited on our budget for this trip.  One thing funny about this is that they don't have toothbrushes and toothpaste free for you.  They do have a vending machine if you need to though, but why bother just bring your own.
After much deliberation we decided to head out and look for a place to eat.  Looking for Korean Restaurants that were still open that night.  We stumbled upon this.
And it looks so yummy we ordered Pork Bulgogi at 12,000 Won and 2 rice for 4,000 Won.
What's fun about Korean Restaurant, there is always a no. of appetizers to munch on before the meal.
Kimchi - really spicy
Eat if straight up dipped in onion sauce
Or do it Korean style wrapped in lettuce and their tasty Korean paste
It was a cozy place to have dined in

Manila Life goes to Seoul, Korea - Day 1

Day 1

It was a fine afternoon and it was our trip to Seoul, South Korea.  We booked our tickets online when Cebu Pacific was having P1.00 promo.  I chanced upon it and did not bother thinking whether to go or not, because 1, I have not been to Seoul, South Korea and 2, the price was impossible to pass, really I got return tickets for 2 at an unbelievable price of P 2,834.00 yes, that is the price for 2 return tickets to Seoul.  If it were up to you, I think you would think the same.

Our flight was scheduled to leave at 1555, and yes we left on time.  Oh how glad I was about that.  Our expected arrival in Seoul was around 2045.  Flight time was about 3 1/2 hours, since Korea is ahead of us by 1 hour so the time looks to be 4 hours and more. but that was not the case.  The flight was almost perfect with not much turbulence, clear skies all the way.
We arrived on time at 2045, Incheon International Airport is big, yes very big.  As soon as we disembark the plane. We walk and followed the crowd down the escalator thinking this must be the way to immigration, but no, it was a shuttle train ride to the immigration and baggage claim area.  The trains arrived after around 5 mins. of waiting, and they were fast... wow was I thinking, this is great! So I guess we must be really far off since we need to ride the transport train to get to immigration and baggage claim.
Immigration was a breeze, then came the problem.  Our luggage still did not came through the conveyors, all the passengers were waiting, and what do you know it was already 2135.  It's almost an hour and we haven't  claimed our luggage yet.  I guess the luggages did travel far as we did.  But finally it came, and off we go to buy our airport bus tickets to our hotel, the price was 9,000 Won, and the bus no. to  reach our hotel is #6015 and it was very cheap and very efficient alternative than taking a taxi.  Travel time to our hotel in Myeong-Dong took around 1.5 hours.
Now, were finally here. It is already 2245 and it is late, but we were very hungry so we scout around for something to eat and we found one amongst the streets

But I'll have to continue this tom. as I am really tired and sleepy.  I also have something to say about the hotel that we are now staying in.  so tomorrow it is, Good night Seoul.

The Twilight Saga - Eclipse movie review

I am a movie fan. That is why I have to watch Eclipse.  I have watched the previous 2 movies, I have not read the book but I can say I am a fan of this movie franchise.

The movie is pre-plotted, meaning to say that what the book has written will be the outcome of the movie.  Everyone who has read the book knows what is going to happen, but why do Twilight fans still come in line to watch this movie adaptation?  Is it because of Bella (portrayed by Kristen Stewart)? I don't think so, it is because of the 2 other main characters that are always at conflict because of their love interest in Bella.

The cold, heartless, glittering but always a charmer vampire Edward Cullen ( portrayed by Robert Pattinson) and the stubborn but selfless, muscle-bound werewolf Jacob Black ( portrayed by Taylor Lautner).  There were moments of tension, awkwardness but most of all cheesiness.

It is a movie about love, about how love can bring out the best in them (not to spoil too much), and how one can make sacrifices to ensure the safety of the one he loves.

The third film in the Twilight series explores a love triangle between Bella, Edward and Jacob is the werewolf pack and the Cullen clan join together to fight a new breed of vampires. Melissa Rosenberg provides the screenplay for the Summit Entertainment adaptation of Stephenie Meyer's best-selling novel, with director David Slade calling the shots behind the camera. Bryce Dallas Howard joins the cast as Victoria, the role originally played by Rachelle Lefevre in the first film.
It will be full of surprises, treachery but most of all full of love.  You will coming out of the movie theater in smiles.  But before I end this, ladies in the audience were very synchronous when Jacob shows and when he comes out topless.  There was a huge cheer and then a sigh....I guess you get it, and it was quite a lot of scenes to cheer on.

Now Showing at your favorite theaters nationwide.

Hours before the midnight screening of the movie event of the year The Twilight Saga - Eclipse,  SM Cinemas together with Magic 89.9 held a Fire and Ice Party at the 2nd level of IMAX MOA, to celebrate with the fans as we countdown to the midnight screening of Eclipse.

It has to be said that indeed, the Philippines is a Twilight country that poured out in support of the film.  Lines were very visible as fans collected souvenirs and lots of free giveaways.
The party never ceases to build momentum with music from jocks of LAX.  And joined in by the wonderful DJ's or Magic 89.9
Hosted by Suzie, Mia, Jessica and CJ with Slick Rick

It was really a fun-filled night as ticket holders were treated with great music, great food and of course lots of prizes.  Eclipse T-shirts were flying one after the other.  Too bad I was not able to get one.  Other prizes being given and raffled off were Esprit watches, many pairs of jeans, Sanuk sandals and shoes, Eclipse paperback, Cherry Mobile cellphone and digicams.

The Twilight fans were all out tonight!!
It was really such a treat, but that was only the beginning as all attention was later focused on what they were really here for.  The Twilight Saga - Eclipse midnight screening, one of the first to be shown in the whole world.

Knight and Day... movie review

Since it was a weekend, I decided to do a little movie marathon.... first up Knight and Day.  Starring Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz as lead characters of the movie.

Roy Miller (portrayed by "Tom Cruise") is a secret agent for the government, who is working beneath the covers protecting a government asset and an invention that is a perpetual energy source battery called the "Zephyr" that could change the whole world.  Thus, to protect the so called secret device, he chances on June Havens (protrayed by "Carmeron Diaz") and uses her as a way to get pass security check from the airport.  Not knowing, June has the hots for Roy's irresistible charm.  What comes afterwards is an action filled, comedic instances and lots of being "drugged", you'll see what I mean when you watch the movie.

Cruise and Diaz were not the first choice for the title roles for this movie, but I am sure glad they took the roles.  They have great chemistry working together, since they have had worked together in "Vanilla Sky".  The movie is filled with car chases, motorcycle chases, name it they have it, even a bull chase scene, now that is something new.

Yes, you will get your adrenaline rush in this movie, the plot is ok. Cruise and Diaz did their acting well.  Tom Cruise has been quite the only actor fitting to play any secret agent role in the US pool of actors, he does it well and what I love about him. He does his own stunts, not all of them of course, but the most common action scenes.  He sinks into his roles very much and is always a 100%.  Even though age does become a factor, he never ceases to amaze me on how he keeps his young looks.  Diaz, on the other hand is always a joy to watch.  She definitely is a natural when it comes to comedies and blends well also on action movies.  She has her share of the action on this one.  Credits to her previous projects especially with the Angels.

Overall, I love the action sequences, the explosions, the chases but I just hope there was more time to elaborate on the background of the story on how it was made up, how Cruise ended up running and many more things.  Anyways, it was a good ride though and you will get your feed of Cruise action.

Global Test Market - proof of payment

There is money to be earned on the internet

Hello to all! I was once a skeptic with regards to earning money on the net.  I, too have had my share of hoaxes and being cheated out of my money because of these so called internet money making schemes. Yes, there are indeed happening, many people have been cheated off with their money.  Their schemes include emails, to online gaming sites, trial promos and many more to mention.  Everyday these schemers are getting more innovative with their ideas that we, ordinary people sometimes do fall in to their trap.

But not all of them are dishonest.  There are legitimate companies which do offer honest pay out and yes, can earn you money.  But of course, you have to be prudent and be more aware of what you are getting into.

I would like to introduce you to Global Test Market.  This is a online survey company that accepts survey offers from various and known brands all over the world, then afterwards let's you fill in the survey depending on your qualifications for the said survey offer.

Founded in 1999, GlobalTestMarket is powered by GMI (Global Market Insite, Inc.), one of the world's leading providers of market research. GMI serves more than 1400 clients in more than 60 countries worldwide, and provides a global solution for companies that wish to conduct online consumer research across multiple countries.

Now, why am I promoting this, it's because I know that this is legit and they will pay you once you get to the threshold of 1,000 points, then you can cash out. My proof is in the pictures here.

1,000 points = $50.00

I want to share this with you because, like me, I want you to earn from this as well.  It may take sometime before you get there. But, surely you will get there.  Just like me there are others who have earned money through the net.

I can attest to this as I know some of the people who did earn money through the web.  One example would be Ms. Levy with her blogpost of Proofs of payment.  Please do take a look and believe.

Reminders in making transactions or joining any promos on the net.
a.) Never give credit card details.  If a site requires you to enter these details, then don't join them, there are many more out there.
b.) Use payment mediums such as PayPal or AlertPay to secure your payment, and to secure payments made to you as well.
c.) Never share your password to anyone. I mean everyone. I guess this is common sense.
d.) Lastly, be always aware of what you are getting into.  Always read the terms and conditions, if it is applicable in your country. And how you are going to be paid.

Good Luck and hope you earn your share of internet opportunities in making money.
