THE A - TEAM
We were invited to a special press screening of THE A-TEAM. I was very excited to watch this film as I was a loyal series fan during the 80's. There have been many adaptations of different 80's series shows, and sad to say most of them have failed and flunked on the big screen. If you're a 80's series man, you know what I mean.
The theater was jam packed with press people mostly my age haha, and maybe hardcore A-team fans.
Well just an overview of what The A-team is, A-team meaning Alpha team has been a huge hit during the 80's it was a weekly show which featured laughs, action scenes, clever disguises and a great plan.
The original series, which ran from 1983-87 and starred George Peppard, Mr. T, Dirk Benedict and Dwight Schultz, followed an unofficial team of Vietnam vets who will stop at nothing to get the bad guys. Sent to prison by a military court for a crime they didn’t commit, these four commandos escaped from a maximum-security stockade and now survive in the Los Angeles underground as soldiers of fortune.

In this storyline however, the Middle East is set as the starting point of the story which highlights how these group of fine soldiers met and thus created the most elite group for the military. Stephen J. Cannell the original series creator produced the film to capture the original essence of the series and bring it to the big screen.
My thoughts of the movie?? Finally, a success in making an 80's series to the big screen. We have been through many TV to movie transitions and this by far is the best I have ever seen. The four main characters really jive well with each other and I would say one of the best casting as well to fit the characters.
The story sticks to the original plot on the series and is then time shifted to after the series, and now more than ever, more action, more stunts and more at stake. The combination of Murdoch and B.A. Baracus made the movie more fun to watch, with their funny antics and insanely rocking maneuvers and stunts. Bradley Cooper as "Faceman" buffed up his body for this role and he did not disappoint, as the charmer of the 4 he makes his way with his looks and charms his way to women. And lastly, Liam Neeson, perfect as "Hannibal " would like it to be, brain and brawns rolled into one and gets it done. They make one hell of a team.
I love it when a plan comes together - quoted Col. John "Hannibal" Smith
"In 1972, a crack commando unit was sent to prison by a military court for a crime they didn't commit. These men promptly escaped from a maximum security stockade to the Los Angeles underground. Today, still wanted by the government, they survive as soldiers of fortune. If you have a problem, if no one else can help, and if you can find them, maybe you can hire the A-Team." - The famous intro line of the A-Team
Starring: Liam Neeson as Col. John "Hannibal" Smith, Bradley Cooper as Lt. Templeton "Faceman" Peck Sharlto Copley as "Howling Mad" Murdoch, Jessica Biel as Capt. Sosa, Quinton "Rampage" Jackson as B.A.Baracus.
