Unusual but pretty effective online grocery shopping tips

Weird works wonders, especially in shaving off a few pesos here and there on your expenses. Here's some uncommon - but definitely practical! - tips for your next online grocery shopping order with MetroMart - the #1 online grocery delivery service in the Philippines.

Store brand is on brand. That is to say, it's on point for the savings you're going for. Most generic brands, in fact, are at about the same quality as brand-name products. Pass off on premium options and substitute for more practical materials when you can. For example, if the dish is a steak, that may justify getting the sirloin cut, but if it was part of an ensemble dish like adobo or chop seuy or curry, simpler cuts of meat may do.

There is clarity in clearance. The clearance section, that is. Some fruit or vegetables that are really close to ripening are definitely commonplace here. Some fresh produce that just look “ugly” could also be priced lower. Make sure to consume right away, or preserve properly.

Miley Cyrus releases reflective new single “Used To Be Young”

Miley Cyrus has released her new song and video, “Used To Be Young” – listen here and watch the video here. In talking about “Used To Be Young,” Miley says, “This song is about honoring who we’ve been, loving who we are and celebrating who we will become. I feel proud when reflecting on my past and optimistic when thinking about the future. I am grateful to my loyal fans who make my dreams a reality daily. I am sincerely thankful for the stability of your steadfast support. This song is for you.”

Regarding the video, Miley noted, “It’s super emotional because I am kind of a mini-me of my mom and I could see her inside of the camera by using a technology where I could livestream with my mom from inside of the camera. So, we could see each other and as she was dancing it just made me cry, it made me laugh, it brought up so many real emotions and I think it’s really letting people into true emotion, which I don’t feel we get to see very much these days.”

Clara Benin to stage ‘befriending my tears’ concert this September

Clara Benin celebrates the release of her sophomore studio album with a major concert happening at the Music Museum on September 22, 2023 (Friday), from 8pm onwards.

Aptly titled ‘befriending my tears, a Clara Benin concert,’ the show chronicles Benin’s journey as an artist coming to terms with self-acceptance and healing while showcasing musical maturity through years of experience and growth.

“Headlining my concert at the Music Museum feels incredibly exciting and a bit nerve-wracking,” the Filipino singer-songwriter shares. “I think that the venue's classic charm and quality acoustics make it the perfect place to perform my new album! I really want my fans to be comfortable and fully immersed in my music, so choosing a seated venue was very important to me.”

Fujitsu and Hexagon digital twin tech aids predictive disaster and traffic safety management

Hexagon’s Safety, Infrastructure & Geospatial division and Fujitsu Limited today announced the joint development of digital twin applications for predicting and mitigating natural disasters and traffic accidents. The solutions reflect the two companies’ ongoing efforts to realize resilient, disaster-resistant cities based on a business alliance formed in June 2022.

To support disaster mitigation, the two companies are developing a prediction model that calculates the extent and impact of flooding from precipitation data, visualizes the extent of flooding and performs damage prediction analysis. Based on the analysis, cities can develop disaster response plans.

To support traffic safety, the companies have focused on an application that identifies areas where heavy traffic and road design heighten the risk of accidents and proposes measures for improvement. The application would allow city planners and road administrators to develop safer, more resilient transportation networks.
