Chefs from Visayas secure wins at Kitchen Hero Chefs’ Edition

Two chefs from Visayas are now qualified for the nationals of the Solane Kitchen Hero Chefs’ Edition, a nationwide cooking competition which aims to recognize a new generation of local talented chefs, after they won their respective regional competitions. 

Chef Mario Sembalante from Cebu City bested nine other contestants in the seventh regional leg of the said culinary competition with his winning dish, Cebu Surf and Turf — malunggay crusted Visayan deep-sea cod fish with a millet risotto crust and local ingredients such as Mango Wine from Argao and homemade fish chicharon with Cebu chorizo foam.

Chef from Puerto Princesa wins Palawan leg of Solane Kitchen Hero Chefs’ Edition

Roberto Roldan Jr. from Palawan  emerged as the winner of the fourth regional leg of the Solane Kitchen Hero Chefs’ Edition—a nationwide cooking competition which aims to recognize a new generation of local talented chefs. 

Roldan bested five (5) other contestants for his winning dish, Herbs and Cashew nut-crusted Beef Tenderloin in Bistek Sauce. He will have the chance to qualify for the national competition round with a grand prize of P100,000 and a culinary trip to Japan. 

Nueva Vizcaya chef wins Solane Kitchen Hero Chefs' Edition Region II leg

Jan Daryl Doculan from Nueva Vizcaya emerged as the winner of the Region II leg of Solane Kitchen Chefs' Edition, a nationwide cooking competition which aims to recognize a new generation of local talented chefs. Doculan bested seven (7) other contestants from all over Region II with his winning dish, Dinakdakan. 

He garnished it with assorted achara, ensalada, toasted shallot, and candied calamansi. He will have the chance to qualify for the national competition round with a grand prize of P100,000 and a culinary trip to Japan.
