Pinoy cyclist dons Barong Tagalog in Prudential RideLondon 2018

Jun Minagawa tastes victory as he bites into his finisher’s medal wearing the Barong Tagalog

Filipino cyclist Tetsuya “Jun” Minagawa recently completed the Prudential RideLondon Brompton World Championship Final in London, United Kingdom. Donning a traditional Barong Tagalog as his official cycling attire, Minagawa cycled a 1.3-mile circuit around the world-famous St. James’ Park in the capital. 

Minagawa joined more than 500 smartly-dressed cyclists from around the world who went through a Le Mans-style dash to unfold their bikes before they set off on an eight lap circuit.

Pru Life UK fetes national cycling champs off to Prudential RideLondon 2018


Cycling national champions Jermyn Prado, Ismael Grospe, Jeremy MaraƱa, and Aidan Mendoza are all set to see action in Prudential RideLondon 2018, the world’s largest cycling festival, over the weekend of 28-29 July 2018 in the capital of the United Kingdom. They, together with other winners from the local cycling event PRUride PH 2018 which took place earlier this year and Pru Life UK’s employee representative, will form the eight-strong official delegation to represent the country. 

Backed annually since 2013 by Pru Life UK’s parent company as the title sponsor, British financial services giant Prudential plc, Prudential RideLondon is expected to see more than 100,000 participants cycling more than three million miles in seven different events.
