Havaianas gives back!

I don't usually do these kinds of posts, but we do indeed need some good news!  Best of all we now know there is still someone who cares for the less fortunate.  Little as may be, this may have changed the life of someone and have shown the people, that we indeed care.

Havaianas showed over 3,000 public elementary students that they care as they gave out a pair each to these jolly kids.  The colorful Havaianas surely brightened up the day of the students from Sto. Tomas Elementary School – Annex and Dayap Elementary School – Annex in BayaniJuan in Calauan, Laguna.    The class adviser of the students pictured here looks pleased to see the kids showing off the gift they just received. 

The distribution of goods was done by ABS-CBN Foundation’s Programa Genio.  Programa Genio is the educational advocacy arm of ABS-CBN Foundation Inc.  It is committed to working with public elementary school children and communities nationwide to discover and develop the inherent genio or genius in every child.  Programa Genio, in partnership with the DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION, works to ensure that the disadvantaged child is empowered to live in hope and define his own path towards a full and productive life.

Havaianas Pays it Forward with Design a Smile 2 for the Benefit of Operation Smile

When was the last time you made someone else smile? That is the question Havaianas asks you as it launches the Havaianas Design a Smile 2, a flip-flops design contest for the benefit of Operation Smile Philippines.

First launched in 2010, Havaianas Design a Smile gives children the chance to show their artistic talents by designing the next Havaianas Smile pair – a special design which will be produced into an actual Havaianas pair, with a percentage of the sales to be donated to Operation Smile Philippines, a non-profit organization which provides life-changing surgeries to children with cleft lips and cleft palates. The initial run generated more than 2,000 entries and raised more than PHP 100,000 from donations alone during this period.
