Sophie Turner at the core of most radical superhero movie in “X-MEN: DARK PHOENIX”


Sophie Turner ups the stakes in the most radical and female-led movie ever made in the X-Men universe in 20th Century Fox’s “X-Men: Dark Phoenix” that will open in Philippine cinemas on June 5. 

In “X-Men: Dark Phoenix”, the team was sent to a life-threatening mission in outer space, Jean Grey (Turner) is nearly killed when she absorbs a cosmic entity that leaves her with powers far beyond anything she or any other mutant has ever possessed. Once she returns home to Earth, she struggles with these near-godlike abilities, but the force inside her is too overwhelming to contain. Spiraling out of control, Jean hurts the ones she loves most. Her actions tear the X-Men apart, and the heroes find themselves deeply compromised at a time when they must face their most dangerous enemy yet—one of their own.

Olivia Wilde returns from the dead in “THE LAZARUS EFFECT”


From horror masters who produced “Insidious,” “The Purge” and “Sinister” come the latest terrifying thriller in their roster – “The Lazarus Effect” starring an interesting cast lead by Olivia Wilde, Mark Duplass, Evan Peters, Donald Glover and Sarah Bolger.

Olivia Wilde’s character, Zoe, is brought back from the dead when a group of research students pushed the boundaries of knowledge when after a successful experiment wherein they brought back an animal to life, they pursued to perform it on a friend who was electrocuted in a freak accident.  Coming back to life, as Zoe’s strange new persona reveals itself, the team quickly becomes stuck in a gruesome reality. They are no longer faced with the question of whether they can bring someone back to life- but rather, the wrath of her return.
