Garmin invites all Filipino amateur and experienced runners to take their workout to the next level with the new Forerunner 55, an easy-to-use GPS smartwatch designed for people of all skill levels to track their stats and achieve their fitness goals.

With the simple press of a button, users can start their run or walk and track their time, distance, speed, pace and heart rate right on their wrist. The Forerunner 55 also offers detailed running data, daily suggested workouts and additional built-in sports apps.

Converge provides food, connectivity to Taal evacuees

Leading fiber broadband provider Converge ICT Solutions has partnered with the local governments in Batangas to provide food and internet connection for the families affected by the continued Taal Volcano unrest.

The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) maintains an Alert Level 3 over the restive Taal volcano as it continues to emit- high levels of volcanic sulfur dioxide with steam-rich plumes reaching as high as 1,800 meters. Recently, PHIVOLCS said the Taal Volcano recorded 17 volcanic earthquakes within the past 24 hours.

Within the first week of Taal’s activity, Converge turned over 800 each of 5-kilogram packs of rice and 5-liter purified water in slim containers to the Batangas Provincial Government led by Gov. Hermilando Mandanas for distribution to the evacuation centers. The donation was personally received by Batangas Vice Governor Mark Leviste and Provincial Administrator Levi Dimaunahan.

Shopee Rises Up the Ranks in YouGov’s Most Recommended Brands for 2021

Shopee, the leading e-commerce platform in Southeast Asia and Taiwan, ranks 5th on market research firm YouGov’s Most Recommended Brands 2021 List in the Philippines. The rankings are based on YouGov BrandIndex’s positive recommendation score, which measures the percentage of a brand’s customers who recommend it to a friend or colleague. The latest rankings show the brands with the highest average recommended score from June 2020 to May 2021. Shopee also takes the top spot in the YouGov Recommend Top Improvers 2021 in the Philippines, going up from 71.9 in the previous year to 79.5. 

Germaine Reyes, President, and CEO of Synergy Market Research + Strategic Consultancy, YouGov’s affiliate partner in the Philippines, said, “Retail and fast-moving brands are showing their domination in this year’s YouGov Recommend Rankings in the Philippines.
