The Public Relations Society of the Philippines (PRSP) is giving more students of public relations, communication, marketing and advertising a chance to be part of the first-ever PRSP Students’ PR Con 2021 with the extension of its registration until November 16, 2021.
A virtual, interactive, and nationwide edition of the Students’ PR Congress, the PRSP Students’ PR Con is an opportunity for students all over the country to learn more about the public relations industry from leading practitioners in the field.
This year’s theme is “Decoding Content: The Journey to PR for Good”, wherein participants will be navigated to the new media landscape and go through the content journey’s three different stages, which are: (1) Capture and Consume, which addresses how we contextualize content we encounter in everyday life; (2) Curate and Converse, which will discuss how to properly curate content from reliable sources and create fruitful conversations responsibly; and (3) Create and Care, which collates learnings from the first two segments by talking about why creating our own PR for Good can push forward ideas into meaningful advocacies and causes.
Speakers Line-up
To discuss these three stages or segments, Students’ PR Con 2021 has assembled thought leaders and renowned professionals from the communications industry. For the Capture and Consume segment, Lynda Jumilla-Abalos of ABS-CBN News Digital will tackle “The News and Information Media” while Peach Natividad of Google, Neil Trinidad of Lazada, and Toff Rada of Tiktok will talk about “Social Media and the Emerging Platforms”.
The Curate and Converse segment will include Vera Files Co-Founders Yvonne Chua of Department of Journalism of the University of the Philippines and Luz Rimban of Ateneo Asian Center for Journalism to discuss “Dissecting Fake News, Trolling and Disinformation”, and Dr. Randy Dellosa, resident psychologist of Pinoy Big Brother and Carlo Ople of PLDT and Unbox for “Being Digitally Ready and Responsible”.
Finally, for our “Create and Care” segment, film director Joey Reyes and Prof. Erik Paolo Capistrano of UP Virata School of Business will dive deep on “Writing Your Story and Choosing Your Journey”; and Caroline Veronilla of World Vision, Anna Meloto-Wilk of Human Nature and Cat Trivino of MindNation will talk about “Forwarding Your Advocacy and Giving Voice for Social Good”.
