Paolo Ballesteros topbills family and late coming-of-age comedy “BARBI D’ WONDER BEKI”

Daydreamer si Billy, ang gwapong closet gay na na-trap sa “kulungan” ng isang macho na pamilya with a policeman brother and sister, at isang macho na trabaho bilang security guard sa mansion ng international businessman na si Mr. Jack Bates. Sa panlabas na anyo, isang refined handsome man si Billy na madalas ay pinagnanasaan ng mga kababaihan. Pero sa panloob na katauhan, alam ni Billy na siya ay si Wonder B, isang character na binuo niya sa mga pangarap niya na patterned after his favorite superhero character Wonder Woman.


As a form of escape, mahilig mag-drop by si Billy sa drag show theater na Sirkus de Olé on the way to work. Madalas kasabay niya ang crush niyang kapitbahay na nagtatrabaho bilang porter ng teatro na si Larry the Bird. Pero may kontrabidang laging kumokontra—si Mr. B, ang theater manager-owner at
may-ari rin ng katabing parlor na Barbitolome Beauty salon.

Dahil sa trabaho niya bilang security guard, mawi-witness ni Billy ang murder ng kanyang boss sa mga kamay ng “kasosyo” kuno nitong si Bao Kuh Teh. Pero in an unfortunate twist, si Billy ang mapagbibintangan sa krimen. Mabilis ding magiging viral ang videos na nagpapakitang “guilty” siya. Magiging “wanted man” ng awtoridad si Billy.

Billy ends up sa only place where he feels safe—sa may Barbitolome Beauty Salon. Doon, makakasalubong niya ang masungit sa kanya na si Mr. B. Mr. B then temporarily adopts him and makes him work as a performer at Sirkus de Olé. Billy gets to live his dream of being free and beautiful. He learns to love his other self. He even gets to be closer to his crush Larry.

Billy has to clear his name of the charges and the terrorists are hunted by the authorities. A thriling, climactic fight scene ensues. Eventually, Barbi Girl as Wonder B and friends defeat the terrorists. They are hailed as heroes.

Si Larry ay mapo-promote bilang operations manager at makakapagtapos sa computer science. Matatanggap ng pamilya ni Billy ang kanyang makulay na pagkatao. 

"Barbi D' Wonder Beki" opens November 29 in cinemas nationwide from OctoArts Films.
