Global OLX surpasses 200 million active monthly users worldwide
OLX Philippines continues to turn more Filipinos into sellers and advocates of online buying and selling in the country.
In a recent press event with the Manila and Cebu media, OLX revealed that the number of consumer-to-consumer (C2C) sellers on their website more than doubled than what was recorded in 2013. This, despite their re-branding early this year, has encouraged more Filipinos to sell their unused but functional items as well as buy pre-loved items online.
As a global brand, OLX is among the most used online platforms in the world. It has surpassed the 200 million active monthly users worldwide, with the users generating more than 11 billion monthly page views or 360 million page views each day. Locally, OLX Philippines has 129 million page views monthly or 4.3 million page views daily.
OLX’s parent company, Naspers, brought the Philippines on board as part of an ongoing initiative to transform OLX into the world’s largest C2C platform.

OLX recognized these opportunities early on and, as a result, we have successfully introduced the basic concepts of online classifieds, e-commerce and the value of used goods to hundreds of millions of consumers in developing markets around the world.”

Other countries that were re-branded to OLX include Switzerland, Thailand, Poland, Hungary, Bulgaria, Romania, Ukraine, Belarus, Kazakhstan, and Indonesia.
With the increase of available smartphones and data plan in the country, mobile users have fueled a significant portion of OLX’s growth. OLX invested early and heavily in mobile, building a highly rated app (4.2 stars in the Google Play store). The OLX mobile app, also available on iOS, has been downloaded over 35 million times worldwide and ranks as the #1 or #2 e-commerce app in the Google Play store in many markets.
OLX is the world’s top online classifieds platform in emerging markets and is available in more than 40 countries and over 50 languages. The site offers a free, fast and hyper-local way for people to buy, sell or exchange used goods and services simply by posting an ad. Every month, hundreds of millions of people around the world visit OLX to find and sell a wide range of products, from furniture, musical instruments, cars and motorcycles to electronics, mobile phones, property and local services.
OLX creates new income opportunities for sellers with limited environmental impact. More than 1,200 OLX employees are located in offices around the world, including in Buenos Aires, Bangkok, Cape Town, Delhi, Jakarta, Lagos, Lisbon, Manila, Nairobi, New York, Poznań, Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo.
