Watches  that  can  be  worn  and  read  underwater  are  a  dime  a  dozen,  but  what  makes  a  true  diver’s  watch?     

Apart  from  meeting  the  standards  set  by  the  International  Organization  of  Standardization,  a  diver’s  watch  has  to  be   water  resistant up  to  a  depth  of  at  least  100  meters.  It  must  also  have  a  unidirectional  bezel  with  markings  at  least  every   five  minutes  and  a  clearly  distinguishable  minute  marking  on  the  watch’s  face  to  help  divers  measure  diving  time. The  dial  has  to  be  visible  in  total  darkness  and  requires  a  second  hand  with  a  luminous  tip  or  counterbalance.
