We are looking for applications from anyone wanting to start saving fuel and money right away. It could be someone who drives hundreds of kilometers to visit a loved one or perhaps a parent who spends many hours driving their child to school or dance practice. It could even be a person who simply wants help in order to reduce their monthly fuel bill.

Ten finalists will win P10, 000 worth of fuel each and will participate in a one-day Fuel Economy Boot Camp to be facilitated by a Shell Expert. Among the ten, we will select the four most deserving drivers who will fly to an all-expense paid trip to Sepang, Malaysia in July to further enhance their fuel economy.

The contest is open to Filipino drivers who reside in Luzon with a valid driver's license and passport that is valid for the nominee to be able to travel to Malaysia on July 6-9, 2011.

1. To join, participants need to click on the 'Fuel Economy team' link on TopGear.com.ph
   1. Participants will be asked to nominate themselves or their friends. Participants then have to answer in less than 300 characters why the nominee needs help in saving fuel. Participants will also be asked to upload a headshot of the nominee.
   2. Participants will then be asked to fill up an online registration form with the nominee's full name, email address, contact number, date of birth, and confirm that the nominee owns a valid driver's license and a passport that is valid for the participant to be able to travel from July 6-9, 2011 to Malaysia.
   3. If the participant is nominating a friend, the participant will also have to fill out a form with their full name, email address and contact number.
   4. A prompt will appear notifying the participant that their nomination has been received. For those who were nominated by someone else, the nominee will receive an email notification that they have been nominated. They may accept or reject the nomination by clicking on the links on the email. A prompt will tell them whether they have successfully confirmed or rejected the nomination.
   5. A participant may nominate multiple unique nominees.
   6. Upon submitting their entries, it will take 48 hours for these to be posted on the website for viewing.
   7. If an entry is invalid, the participant will be notified via email. Pilipinas Shell will not upload invalid entries. Invalid entries are defined as:
      1. Entries that use foul, offensive, expletive language or cusswords.
      2. Entries that show nudity.
      3. Entries that mock the belief systems of others like religion, sexuality, ethnicity etc.
      4. Entries that demean the Shell brand.
      5. Entries that use images or slogans that relate directly or indirectly to Shell's competitors.
      6. Entries that show or advocate unsafe driving practices.
2. Nomination will be accepted from May 16, 12:01am to June 15, 11:59pm.
3. This contest is open to Luzon residents only.
4. There is no purchase requirement to join the promotion.
5. The top ten finalists will be chosen on June 17 at 4th Floor, Tuscan Building, 114 VA Rufino Street, Legaspi Village, Makati City.
6. There are two steps in determining the winners.
   1. First, the top ten nominees will be chosen by a panel of judges using the following criteria for judging:
      1. Creativity of Pitch (50 points)
         1. This refers to the overall quality of the entry submitted. Is the pitch creatively worded? Is it witty or entertaining? Does it catch attention?
      2. Story Value (50 points)
         1. This refers to the text description that was submitted together with the photo. Does the story behind the photo hold a great potential for human interest story? Is it something that will interest the readers of the site? Does the story hold the potential of entertaining or inspiring readers?
   2. The top ten nominees will be notified 24 to 48 hours after the selection has been made through registered mail, email and a phone call.
   3. Second, the top 10 nominees must participate in an activity organized by Pilipinas Shell on June 25, 2011 to be considered 'finalists.' If a top 10 nominee is unable to attend for any reason, Pilipinas Shell will replace him/her with the nominee with the next highest score.
   4. The activity will be comprised of three parts:
      1. a fuel economy seminar with a written exam,
      2. a one-on-one interview with a panel of judges
      3. A driving challenge wherein participants must attempt to get the most mileage out of 1 liter of fuel.
         1. For the driving challenge, the top ten will use the same model of car and Shell Quality fuels, both provided by Pilipinas Shell. Their fuel efficiency will be measured through a standardized procedure provided by Pilipinas Shell.
   5. The final score of the finalists during the Boot Camp will be based on the following criteria or points system
7. Results of 1L Driving Challenge (80 points)
8. exam results (10 points)
9. panel interview results (10 points)
   1. The four drivers with the highest scores for all the 3 parts will be declared the most fuel efficient drivers. They will be sent to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on July 6 to 9, 2011 for a fuel economy activity.
10. The winners will receive the following: The four winners will receive:
    1. A trip to the Shell Eco-Marathon Asia in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on July 6-9, 2011
    2. Pilipinas Shell will provide:
       1. roundtrip air fare (Manila-Kuala Lumpur, Kuala Lumpur-Manila)
       2. transportation to and from the airport
       3. travel insurance
       4. applicable terminal fees (travel and airport tax)
       5. accommodations (4 days and 3 nights)
       6. PHP 15,000 each pocket money.
11. The 20% tax for prizes exceeding P10,000 in value shall be shouldered by Summit Media.
12. A person can only win once.
13. The top ten nominees will be notified 24 to 48 hours after the selection has been made through registered mail, email and a phone call. The four winners will be announced during the Boot Camp event on June 25, 2011.
14. To claim their prize, the four winners must email a photocopy of their passport to darwin@eon.com.ph on or before June 27, 2011. Failure to submit the said requirements during the mentioned period will result in their replacement with the nominee with the next highest score.
