Electrolux Design Lab 2011 calls for
appliance designs with Intelligent Mobility
Last year's 1st, 2nd and 3rd prize winners respectively.
Always wanted to start a design career and pioneer a breakthrough in product design? Then make your design dream come true by joining the Electrolux Design Lab 2011. Bring out your creative juices, innovate and be the next big thing.
The Electrolux Design Lab invites undergraduate and graduate industrial design students worldwide to create new, revolutionary home appliances for a chance to win cash prizes and a six-month design internship.
Now on its 9th year, the Electrolux Design Lab chooses “Intelligent Mobility” as the theme for this year’s competition. Intelligent Mobility underlies three concepts and trends of modern technology – sensitive in meeting the needs of consumers, flexible in adapting to the diverse activities of people and empowering in giving the consumers the control to operate home systems while at home or away.
The main challenge is for participants to be bold, creative and innovative in coming up with their designs that will redefine how people prepare, store food and do their dishes, both within and beyond the home. It should offer personalization by customizing features that fit the needs of customers while utilizing existing technology as support and guidance.
