Global digital business services
leader, TP in the Philippines capped its celebration of International Women’s
Month with the gathering of over 200 women leaders and advocates at the TP
Women Summit 2025 held recently at the Crowne Plaza, Ortigas Center.
With the theme “Translating the Women Agenda into Action: Address Women's Rights, Invest in Women's Growth, and Accelerate Our Progress,” the summit served as a multisectoral gathering of women leaders, champions, advocates, and allies. The event further emphasized TP’s dedication to synergistic collaborations that advance the shared task of creating empowering environments for women within and beyond the workplace.
Hosted by food and sustainability
advocate and Ten Outstanding Young Men and Women 2022 awardee Shawntel Nicole
Nieto, the TP Women Summit featured expert advocates from the University of the
Philippines academic Patricia Sybil “Auie” Aurelio and Director of Lasallian
Center for Inclusion, Diversity, and Well-being Estesa “Teeza” Xaris
Que-Legaspi, who shared insights on breaking barriers, strengthening inclusion,
and translating commitments to gender equality and women empowerment into
tangible outcomes in the workplace and beyond.
“At TP, we firmly believe in the
transformative power of collaboration and innovation. Through this summit, we
aim to provide interactive opportunities for our multi-sectoral stakeholders to
address pivotal women-rights issues both in the workplace and within our
communities,” said
Fides Amor Ricasa, TP in the Philippines Executive Vice President of Business
Development, in her welcome address.
Another highlight of the event
featured key leaders and TP Women executive sponsors of TP in the Philippines
in a panel discussion. Chief People Officer Jeffrey Johnson, Executive Vice
President Toni Tompar, and Vice President of Operations Nina Kristine Abad
shared expert insights and enjoined advocates and allies to engage in
transformative action to further accelerate greater gender equality in the
workplace.
“We
need to make sure that all avenues are available for women to advance into
leadership roles. In addition to our collective efforts to educate more people,
we’re also advancing gender pay equity. And I’m glad to share that at TP in the
Philippines, we have achieved gender-pay equity in all levels of our
organization,” Johnson said.

Jeffrey Johnson, chief people officer of TP in the Philippines; and Toni
Tompar, executive vice president of operations; Facilitating the panel
discussion was Shawntel Nieto, president and co-founder of SustainablePH.
When asked how TP Women overcomes challenges in promoting gender
equality, Tompar shared that apart from implementing programs and policies,
women in senior leadership as well as members of the executive leadership are,
in fact, staunch champions and advocates of inclusivity and diversity. “Despite global disruptions, TP remains a
people-first company. We keep our ears on the ground and listen to the needs of
our people, whose dedication and talents are key in delivering value and
driving meaningful change for women and the rest of our people across the
communities where we operate,” Tompar added.
TP’s successful efforts in advancing gender equity in the workplace,
especially for women and people of diverse sexual orientation, gender identity
and expression, are built on three strategic pillars: 1) Leveraging data by
measuring the organization against critical benchmarks on which the development
of inclusion and diversity programs, policies, and activities is based; 2)
Leadership by example with the members of senior and executive leadership
acting as proactive champions; and 3) Community-building that directly engages
TP’s frontline employees and leaders toward addressing women’s rights,
investing in their personal and professional growth, and accelerating progress
that uplifts women and the society at large.
The company’s initiatives and
operations are also complemented by its extensive Emotional Intelligence (EI)
program, emphasizing the critical task of enhancing uniquely human qualities
and capabilities. “Emotional intelligence is an important driver in ensuring
the success of attaining gender equality at TP, especially in the age of
artificial intelligence,” shared Abad.
In recognition of its ardent commitment to ensure
women are represented and empowered across its workplaces, TP in the
Philippines was given the 1st Runner-Up award for Gender-Inclusive
Workplace by the United Nations Women Empowerment Principles (UNWEPs) in 2024.
The company was the lone member of the IT-BPM industry to be honored under the
Gender-Inclusive Workplace category.
