LRT-1 launches #LightRailTourism Photo Contest to inspire city travel

We all miss travelling – exploring destinations, revisiting favorite spots, and even discovering new ones. With this in mind, LRT-1 private operator Light Rail Manila Corporation (LRMC) is launching #LightRailTourism, a photo contest to support the gradual recovery of local tourism within the metro, one click at a time.

Keeping in mind the minimum safety health protocols, the public is invited to share snapshots of interesting or unique spots in Metro Manila, which can be easily accessed by riding the LRT-1.

You can choose from three categories: #LRT1Mamasyal for destinations and attractions, #LRT1MagFoodTrip for the delicious and mouthwatering food from the city, or #LRT1MagShopping for the best bargains and finds from different shopping centers.

Upload the photo on your personal Facebook account, add a caption, and don’t forget to include the hashtags #LightRailTourism, #ikotMNL, #LRT1, and the hashtag specifying its category. Include a location and tag LRMC’s Facebook page. Make sure it is a public post too!

Those interested may upload as many photos that they have personally taken from October 16 until November 15, 2021. The photo with the most number of likes will win Php15,000 worth of prizes: a Huawei Nova 8i smartphone and limited-edition ikotMNL beep card with Php1,000 load. The best photo upload from each of the three categories will also win Php5,000 worth of Gift Certificates each! Lucky winners will be announced shortly after the contest period on the LRMC Facebook page.

LRMC also recently launched an ikotMNL train ride video featuring a virtual tour of points of interest near LRT-1 stations from Roosevelt to Baclaran Station. To ensure the well-being of its LRT-1 commuters, safety protocols are strictly observed at the station and inside the trains at all times.

“We invite the LRT-1 community to help us share the best of Metro Manila, and inspire people through photos that communicate hope visually. We all have dealt with uncertainty and changing times the past year. As our country begins to open up again, it is important to be reminded of the good things around us that we can once again explore, discover, and celebrate,” said Jacqueline Gorospe, LRMC Head of Corporate Communications and Customer Relations.
