Eugene Domingo and Cherie Gil Deliver Epic Acting Showdown In Jollibee’s Comedy Digital Series

When it comes to acting, very few can get on the level of Eugene Domingo and Cherie Gil. Both differing in style and genre, with Cherie often seen in emotionally charged dramas and Eugene in comedy scenes, these actresses are acting legends!

For the second season of Jollibee’s web series, 14/29 Petsa de Peligro JolliSerye, the two veteran actresses are bringing their A-game to the brand’s latest hit series.

First-of-its-kind web series returns with more petsa de peligro tales, special guest stars

14/29 Petsa de Peligro JolliSerye, a first-of-its kind branded digital sitcom, posted its first episode in Jollibee’s official Facebook page last October 2017. This pioneering web series tells the survival tales of a wacky group of young working adults from the company Happy Calendar House during Petsa De Peligro, or that time of the month when one tries to survive on limited budget days before payday.

The series’ first season garnered a total of 17 million views on Facebook and YouTube, building anticipation and excitement for the Season 2 return! The first episode of Season 2 introduced Eugene Domingo as U.G.E., the hardworking and meticulous CEO of Happy Calendar House. Joining the comedy superstar on the second episode is drama veteran Cherie Gil, who plays Mama Mila, a Spanish socialite and mom to the series’ staple, Queenie.

“I’m so proud to be a part of JolliSerye,” Eugene shared. “I really love my character U.G.E! She is such an achiever, quite sosyal but very relatable. I was happily surprised that they brought me in for the second episode with Madame Cherie Gil, it’s such an honor to do a scene with her.”

“I feel very jolly being in the JolliSerye,” Cherie said. “I’m glad to be working with all these millennials who brought the digital sitcom to life. It’s always fun working with Eugene; she’s a very good friend.”

A scene for the books

In the second episode of Season 2, Queenie and the gang are made to deal with a little lie with big consequences. To prevent being sent back to Spain, Queenie told Mama Mila that she is the CEO of Happy Calendar House! What she hoped to be a harmless lie became a tension-filled situation for the JolliSerye gang as they scramble to help Queenie out when Mama Mila decides to drop by their office.

The story peaked as Mama Mila and U.G.E. try to outshine each other—Eugene dishing out side-splitting lines and Cherie delivering hers teary-eyed and emotional—pushing Queenie to confess the truth.

“It’s truly an honor to have both Cherie and Eugene in one JolliSerye episode,” shares Cathleen Capati, Jollibee Flagship Marketing Director. “Both have brought their legendary talents and jolly personalities to the set, and greatly inspired the cast and crew to deliver more fun, relatable storylines and unique twists to Jollibee’s digital sitcom.”
