Tears, triumph, and promises fulfilled in AXA True Stories

AXA Philippines, one of the country’s leading insurance companies, further strengthens its commitment to empower people to live the life they choose with its latest brand campaign. Dubbed AXA True Stories, this latest engagement showcases stories from real customers, each one an inspiring story of triumph over adversity and of commitments fulfilled.

Meet Nette Gemora. After her sister-in-law was diagnosed with cancer, Nette persuaded her husband to buy a health plan. “He told me, he’ll only agree to get one if I also got one for myself,” she stated. She spoke to her financial partner from AXA and took a Health Max plan for herself and her husband. “This was in December of 2015. Good thing, it was easy to buy then because I was able to pay using my credit card.”

It was three months afterwards when she had to face her life’s greatest challenge. Nette was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer and needed immediate surgery and chemotherapy to manage the spread of the cancer cells. “It was a huge shock for us. My kids were really affected. My husband felt helpless. But I promised them I will give it a good fight.”

Nette fought and won her bout with cancer. She received the full coverage of her health plan within a week of submitting her claims forms. Her agents, Darren and Joy, assisted her at every step of her claim and they have grown to become close friends.

Upon getting a clean bill of health from her doctor, Nette excitedly told her children to pack their bags as she planned a family trip to Singapore. Since then, she and her family have traveled to different places, and even the US for the Christmas holidays. Nette shared, “I am glad that I was able to overcome my sickness, I know that not many people can say the same. I am now looking forward to more trips with my family.”

Then there’s the story of Glen Hare, a young professional who’s not your typical millennial. Even with no outstanding health issues, she had the foresight to purchase an AXA Global Health Access plan for herself. A few months later, she noticed a swelling on her jaw, which subsequent tests revealed was a type of rare disease called ameloblastoma. Call it providential, but had the condition not been caught early, the infection would have spread to her brain. And because of her health plan from AXA, she was able to get the needed treatment immediately. Glen is now back to pursuing her passion in the visual arts and attending to her budding career.

“It was during our office Christmas party when I noticed my jaw was swelling,” revealed Glen. “I was so relieved that I had the health plan which covered all of my hospital expenses. I didn’t need to unnecessarily burden my parents with the costs. They didn’t need to worry.”

Today, Glen continues to pursue her passion in art and paints during her free time. “Painting helps me realize that all the little decisions I make help determine the big picture, and being healthy, being whole again, makes me feel complete.”

These are but some of the true stories that bring to life AXA’s unwavering commitment to its customers of empowering them to live the life they choose.
