Charlie Puth Returns With New Single “Attention”

Multi-Grammy nominee and Atlantic recording artist Charlie Puth has unveiled his hugely anticipated new single, “Attention” tonight. “Attention” – written and produced by Puth – is now available to stream and download at all online retailers and services.

“Attention” is the first release from Puth’s forthcoming sophomore album and follow-up to 2016’s now RIAA platinum certified debut album, NINE TRACK MIND. Recently named to Forbes’ “30 Under 30” ranking, Puth premiered the new single last night via an immersive music experience dubbed “The Attention Room,” which is located at 8017 Melrose Avenue in Los Angeles. The Attention Room features a spectacular LED infinity tunnel, soundtracked by “Attention,” with visuals that were designed to replicate the brain’s reaction to receiving attention. As a result, The Attention Room experience creates a rush of excitement and joy, similar to the feelings inspired by the new single itself.

“Attention” is certain to be a live-show highlight in Puth’s upcoming North American tour. NINE TRACK MIND made a remarkable chart debut upon its January 2016 release, arriving at #5 on Billboard’s “Top Current Albums chart,” fueled by the 2x RIAA platinum certified top 40 smashes, “One Call Away” and “Marvin Gaye (Feat. Meghan Trainor),” as well as the platinum certified “We Don’t Talk Anymore (Feat. Selena Gomez).” A worldwide phenomenon, the album also reached #1 on iTunes charts in 28 countries around the globe, earning platinum and gold certifications in the UK, Netherlands, New Zealand, Poland, South Africa, Switzerland, Denmark, Finland, Sweden, Brazil, Colombia, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Philippines, South Korea, Taiwan and France, where Puth proved the year’s fourth greatest international seller behind David Bowie, Adele, and Coldplay.

“We Don’t Talk Anymore (Feat. Selena Gomez)” – which marked Puth’s second top 10 single and fourth consecutive entry on Billboard’s “Hot 100” – was recently named to Shazam’s “Hall of Fame” with over five million individual Shazams and counting. A top 10 hit here in the US, the single was also an international favorite, topping the charts in Italy and earning multiple platinum and gold certifications in a range of countries. What’s more, the “We Don’t Talk Anymore” companion video proved an undeniable sensation, now with over 940 million views via Puth’s official YouTube alone.

Along with his worldwide popularity, Puth is among the most honored new artists in recent memory, among his many accolades a Teen Choice Award, two Billboard Music Awards, a Nickelodeon Kids Choice Award, and myriad nominations including a prestigious GRAMMY® nod for “Song of the Year.”
A gifted and charismatic live performer, Puth has proven a hugely popular concert attraction, with last year’s “Nine Track Mind Tour” selling out nearly every date within 30 minutes of its announcement. As if that weren’t enough, Puth has made a number of show-stopping TV appearances, including FOX’s 2016 Teen Choice Awards, NBC’s TODAY and The Voice, CBS’ The Late Late Show with James Corden, ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel Live! and 2015 American Music Awards, and both the nationally syndicated Ellen DeGeneres Show and LIVE with Kelly and Michael, not to mention a recent guest cameo on CBS’ highly rated Life In Pieces.

Puth first exploded onto the music scene as a songwriter, producer and vocalist on Wiz Khalifa’s “See You Again,” the emotional tribute to Paul Walker in FURIOUS 7. The song has officially entered the history books as one of the decade’s biggest singles, topping Billboard’s “Hot 100” for a stunning 12 weeks. Now certified 7x platinum by the RIAA, “See You Again,” is indeed a planetary phenomenon, with combined sales and track-equivalent streams in excess of TK million units worldwide. Furthermore, the song’s deeply touching companion video is now exceeding 2.6 billion individual views at Wiz Khalifa’s official YouTube channel – the first ever hip-hop video to achieve the billion view milestone and YouTube’s second most popular video of all time.

“See You Again” collected a long list of awards and honors in addition to its unprecedented popularity. Along with its dual Billboard Music Awards triumph, the song was feted with the 2015 Critic’s Choice Award for “Best Song,” the 2015 Hollywood Film Award for “Hollywood Song Award,” a pair of 2015 Teen Choice Awards, three GRAMMY® Award nominations, two 2015 MTV Video Music Awards nominations, two 2015 American Music Awards nominations, and a 73rd Golden Globes Award nod for “Best Original Song.”
