Grand finale fast approaching for the 38th National MILO Marathon season‏

The finish line is in sight for the 38th National MILO Marathon as runners of all ages gear up for a heated grand finale in the National Finals, to be held on December 7 at the SM Mall of Asia Grounds. A grand prize of P300,000 in cash, a trophy, and a chance to compete in an international marathon is up for grabs for the National MILO Marathon King and Queen bets from across the nation.

Reigning MILO Marathon King and Queen Eduardo Buenavista and Mary Joy Tabal are focused on their training as they prepare to face fellow elite runners Eric Panique, Christabel Martes, Anthony Nerza and Philip Dueñas, among others, in the esteemed international race event.

“I have been training hard in preparation for the National Finals. I think my fiercest rival would be Ricky Panique,” said Eduardo Buenavista, five-time MILO Marathon King. “My target is to get into the Top 3 finishers, but I am confident that I have what it takes to win the MILO Marathon King title once again.”

Not to miss out on the fun, celebrity and fitness advocate Kuya Kim Atienza, and former congressman Gilbert Remulla, are geared up for the 21K running event, while actress LJ Reyes is set to join the 10K event. Runners of all ages, such as students, moms, dads, kids and families will grace the 3K and 5K events.

To further the support for young Filipino talents, MILO will provide 16,000 underprivileged youth with brand new running shoes this year to reach the 50,000 mark through the Help Give Shoes advocacy. This year, the little champions of Tacloban will be the recipients. The shoes will come with Messages of Hope which can be sent to the children. Runners and avid MILO drinkers can write a message of inspiration on a foot cutout at the Help Give Shoes booth during the MILO Marathon National Finals. Netizens can get involved by sharing their inspiring messages, including the hashtag #MessagesOfHope, via posting on the MILO Philippines Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/milo.ph), tweeting @MILOPH on Twitter, or tagging @MiloPhilippines on Instagram.

“As we near the close of this year’s MILO Marathon season, we would like to thank the support of everyone who made this big success possible,” expressed Andrew Neri, MILO Sports Marketing Manager. “We are very excited for the upcoming finale that is sure to be a thrilling end to a great running season. We invite everyone to join us in cheering on our runners as they race to the finish line, and be one with us as a Filipino sports community in our celebration at this grand running event.”

The gun start for participants of the 42K run is at 3:00AM, the 21K run at 4:30AM, 10K run at 5:00AM, 5K run at 5:35AM and the 3K run at 5:30AM. The starting line will be adjacent to the finish line at the Seaside Boulevard of SM MOA.

The 38th National MILO Marathon is made possible by Timex, the Bayview Park Hotel Manila, ASICS, Lenovo, Manila Bulletin and Gatorade, along with endorsements from the Department of Education, Philippine Sports Commission and the Philippine Olympic Committee.
