Fresh, International Movies Premiere on CinemaWorld

CinemaWorld, an international movie channel, continues to bring the best movies from around the world to cable television. This month, CinemaWorld offers fresh, new titles, premiering on the channel just months after their official theatrical releases this year.

Gold is an Irish offbeat comedy about Ray, played by David Wilmot (from The Tudors and King Arthur), an estranged father who returns to his hometown after a 10-year absence in order to reconnect with his teenage daughter Abbie, played by Maisie Williams (from Game of Thrones), and ex-wife at the request of his ailing father.  However, he unwittingly finds himself responsible for almost destroying all their lives.  Screened at the Seattle International Film Festival 2014, Gold premieres on CinemaWorld on August 3, at 9:00 PM.

Earning him the title Best New Director at the Turia Awards 2014, Jorge Torregrossa, together with Elvira Lindo, one of Spain’s leading screenwriters, creates a new US-Spanish Comedy The Unexpected Life.  Juanito, played by award-winning actor Javier Cámara, moved to New York to make it big as an actor.  Years later, things have not gotten much better.  One day, his cousin Jorge, played by Raúl Arévalo, who seems to be successful and has gotten "everything one ever hopes to have", decides to pay him a visit.  During their time together, though, the true reality of their lives come to light.  Find out how things unfold between the two first on August 10, at 9:00 PM.

A group of 13-year old village youths in Italy are playing one afternoon when tragedy strikes.  They find that, 30 years later, their past returns to haunt them.  Screened at the 17th Shanghai International Film Festival 2014, Seven Little Killers stars Best Actor awardee Michele Venitucci, and will premiere first on CinemaWorld on August 24, at 9:00 PM.

Eleven-year old Chala, played by Armando Valdés, lives alone with his drug addict mother.  He illegally trains fighting dogs to earn some money for his family, and this world of violence sometimes finds itself surfacing when at school.  In spite of this, Chala’s sixth grade teacher Carmela, played by Alina Rodríguez, feels affection and respect for him.  One day she becomes ill and musts give up teaching for several months.  When Carmela returns, she rebels against the transformations Chala and her class have been subjected to.  The relationship between the veteran teacher and the boy grows stronger, but this mutual commitment will jeopardize their continuance at the school.  Already boasting of multiple awards, including the Havana Star Prize for Best Film and Best Latin American Film at the Malaga Spanish Film Festival 2014, don’t miss this Cuban Drama Behavior on August 31, at 9:00 PM.

Premiering also this month on CinemaWorld is Best Film nominee at the Fajr International Film Festival 2012 Wooden Bridge.  In the heat of the presidential election, Amir and Shirin intend to leave Iran but face immigration problems.  They come across one solution – Shirin accepts the help of their former professor, Kamran Sabouhi, and goes to him to make the visa arrangements in Dubai.  Despite his initial disapproval due to Sabouhi’s affection for Shirin, Amir agrees to the plan and Shirin leaves just one month before the election.  What they do not realize is this move is set to destroy their marriage.  Catch Wooden Bridge on August 17, at 9:00 PM.
