Adidas signs Joakim Noah

adidas announced a partnership with NBA All-Star center Joakim Noah of the Chicago Bulls

NBA All-Star Joakim Noah of the Chicago Bulls joins the adidas basketball roster which includes his Chicago Bulls teammate and 2011 NBA Most Valuable Player Derrick Rose along with three-time NBA Defensive Player of the Year Dwight Howard of the Houston Rockets, 2013 NBA Rookie of the Year Damian Lillard of the Portland Trail Blazers and two-time NBA MVP and four-time NBA Champion Tim Duncan of the San Antonio Spurs.

The new partnership with Noah makes him the seventh current Chicago Bulls player with an adidas partnership including Rose, Jimmy Butler, Taj Gibson, Marquis Teague, Tony Snell and Erik Murphy.

“Joakim has demonstrated the work ethic, passion and attitude that make him a perfect fit for the adidas brand,” said Chris Grancio, adidas head of global basketball sports marketing. “When you watch him play, his competitiveness and love of the game is contagious on the court and we’re excited to partner with him as he enters the prime of his career.”

Other adidas athletes include WNBA MVP Candace Parker, FIFA World Player of the Year Lionel Messi of FC Barcelona and NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year Robert Griffin III of the Washington Redskins.

Noah will be featured in a variety of upcoming adidas marketing initiatives and will play a role in the development of basketball footwear and apparel.

The No. 9 overall pick by the Chicago Bulls in the 2007 NBA Draft, center Joakim Noah of the University of Florida has career averages of 9.4 points, 9.1 rebounds, 2.1 assists and 1.5 blocks through his five NBA seasons.  Noah is coming off of his best season in 2013 where he was an NBA All-Star and NBA All-Defensive First Team. While in college, Noah led the University of Florida to two NCAA championships.
