Uratex receives consecutive honors from Orthopaedics Association

Uratex receives consecutive honors
from Orthopaedics Association

The RGC Foam Group, the country’s leading manufacturer of commercial and automotive polyuretahane foam products in the country and Southeast Asia, was again lauded by the Philippine Orthopaedics Association, Inc. (POA), the country’s leading organization of orthopaedic practitioners, for its constant support of the organization’s continuing medical education in the field of musculoskeletal studies.

The award was received by Christiane Marie “Peachy” Medina (center), Managing Director of Uratex Philippines, Inc. and was handed by Dr. Adrien Quidlat (left), new President of the POA, and Dr. Geoffrey Battad (right), POA’s immediate past President, during the POA’s 63rd annual convention held recently at the Crowne Plaza Manila Galleria in Quezon City. The event was held in cooperation with the Philippine Hip and Knee Society and the Philippine Board of Orthopaedics (PBO).

“Similar to the honor given to us last year, we are very proud to be recognized by a prestigious medical organization and be part of its continuous efforts dedicated to research of various musculoskeletal conditions,” shares Medina.

Uratex was the only non-pharmaceutical company acknowledged for its contributions to the orthopaedics field during the event. Since 2009, the company has been helping the POA fulfill its mission to advance the art and science of orthopaedics by promoting excellence in research, training, and service.

Medina explains further:  “Through our products, we are able to contribute in managing various musculoskeletal pain types of patients who have problems with their lower back, muscle and even those with incorrect posture.”

She said that Uratex’s Senso Memory Foam Mattress, for instance, helps people with back problems as it focuses on pressure points, while giving comfort when it conforms to the shape of a person’s body.

The main purpose of the musculoskeletal system is to provide form, support and stability to the body, and this is not achieved when there is an injury that affects the muscles, ligaments, tendons, and nerves. This may include aching or stiffness of the entire body, fatigue, sleep disturbances and twitching of the muscles.

Thus, having customized foam products such as the Senso Memory foam, Cozy Latex, Technogel, and  pillows like Therapoint and Senso Memory, may improve or relieve these symptoms brought by musculoskeletal pain.

Medina likewise assures the POA that it will continue to support the POA in its quest to further enhance the knowledge of local orthopaedic surgeons—whose main objectives is to provide health services for the country at the highest standards.

“We will continue our support of the POA’s endeavors in the musculoskeletal field in the years to come because we know that the results of their hard work will benefit many Filipinos,” discloses Medina.
