X-Men : First Class movie review

X-Men: First Class

Before mutants had revealed themselves to the world, and before Charles Xavier and Erik Lehnsherr took the names Professor X and Magneto, they were two young men discovering their powers for the first time. Not archenemies, they were instead at first the closest of friends, working together with other Mutants (some familiar, some new), to prevent nuclear Armageddon. In the process, a grave rift between them opened, which began the eternal war between Magneto's Brotherhood and Professor X's X-Men.

This is the start of all we know about the X-Men, I am not a avid comic reader, but I was a fan of the late 90's X-men animation series which I' proud to say I still have a collection in tact.  Sad to say that animation series had to end.  But the comics still lived on to this date.  And thousands upon thousands worship Marvel's X-men and has grown quite a large fan base.

I guess you have watched the previous X-men movie trilogy a couple of years ago, which gave way to X-men origins starring Wolverine (Jackman).  Now with this franchise reboot of the X-men, with this X-men First Class as a start, hoping to get a 2nd life on this great Marvel spectacle.

Now is the movie worth the watch?  If you are an X-men fanatic, then there is no doubt, its worth the watch.  The movie starts with the familiar scene from the previous trilogy which shows the young Eric Lehnsherr (Magneto) manipulate metal to his liking.  Then to Charles as he first meets Raven a.k.a. Mystique.  The story focuses on the 2 main leads Eric and Charles, and how they have met, joined hands and then went on their chosen fate.  I have to say, I was quite impressed with the special effects being presented in the movie and I guess one of the most anticipated part of the film other than the great effects was the appearance of a cameo, you guess it, Mr. Adamantium himself...

Overall, it was a great movie experience as we get to know how the X-men came about, but there were scenes that I think were a little bit dragging.  Beast, Mystique, Charles are ok, but Magneto was the best portrayal for me.  Enjoy the movie and lastly you must be asking, should we wait for the end credits to finish?  Maybe they got something hidden at the end as almost all Marvel movies have done, sorry but for this case, the end credits is the end.  So pack up after the movie.  See you in the cinemas!
