The Lighthouse Marina joins Earth Hour

This weekend we will all be given a chance to show our love and support to mother earth. The countdown to Earth Hour has begun and this coming March 26 of 2011, The Lighthouse Marina Resort, along with hundreds of millions of people around the world, will show support for the environment by switching off its lights during Earth Hour.
From 3pm to 6pm, National Geographic Channel and Bebsie's Chicken will host a film viewing at Admiral Hall featuring "Six Degrees Could Change the World" and "The 11th Hour" which communicate the threats of climate change. Snacks will be provided for FREE during the film show.

Between 8:30 to 9:30pm, the hotel will switch off their lights in most back-of-the-house areas and dim the lights in public areas, restaurants and hotel exteriors. Guests will be encouraged to participate by turning off the lights in their guestrooms as well. As an environmentally conscious and socially responsible company, it’s only fitting that Lighthouse participates in Earth Hour to help raise awareness for climate change with our employees and guests.

The Sands Resto-Grill team of chefs have prepared a special Grill and Pasta Buffet which will highlight some of its healthy food selections. In addition, "unplugged" performance such as fire dancers and talented musicians from the University of the Philippines’ College of Music will keep our guests entertained under the moonlight. At the end of the evening, all our guests and employees will be encouraged to set off sky lanterns as a symbol of hope and their pledge to protect the environment.

There will be prizes to be given away which includes an overnight stay for two at the Lighthouse Marina Resort, premium merchandises from sponsors and a lot more. Join us at The Lighthouse’s EARTH HOUR ECOFEST WEEKEND and have a blast while taking a stand against climate change! A portion of the proceeds will be donated to WWF.

Earth Hour Ecofest Weekend is sponsored by SBMA Ecology Department, Banda Solar, Tai Chi Massage, NaiCha, Century21, Grand Pillar International, Volvo, Bebsie's Chicken and Circuit 9 Car Rental.
