Shutter Island.... movie review

Someone is missing........    Who is patient no. 67..... these will be the questions you will be pondering upon while seeing the movie.

It's 1954, an up-and-coming U.S. marshal Teddy Daniels ( Leonardo Dicaprio) with partner Chuck Aule (Mark Ruffalo) is assigned to investigate the disappearance of a patient from Boston's Shutter Island, Ashecliffe Hospital. Daniels has been pushing for an assignment on the island for personal reasons, but before long he wonders whether he hasn't been brought there as part of a twisted plot by hospital doctors whose radical treatments range from unethical to illegal to downright sinister.

Teddy's shrewd investigating skills soon provide a promising lead, but the hospital refuses him access to records he suspects would break the case wide open. As a hurricane cuts off communication with the mainland, more dangerous criminals "escape" in the confusion, and the puzzling, improbable clues multiply, Teddy begins to doubt everything - his memory, his partner, even his own sanity.

Directed by Martin Scorsese. Released by: UIP-Solar Entertainment Corp.

This film is very disturbing.... with traces of Nazi ways as well as torture and torment.... how the government during their time.. would do experiments on people such as the mentally unstable to figure new ways of adapting people for wartime. The plot is filled with twists and turns.. making him another victim of his own curiosity. The movie succeeds in giving the effect of how illusions can bring you to insanity... so after all is done and you have finished with the movie... you would still be left to answer who is patient no. 67?
